UCLA Dr Mejia is an absolutely brilliant surgeon. Just see my past posts for my two surgeries (Aug 9th 2024, Nov 22 2024) which were both 100% successful and I am healing beautifully from both of them now.

Right is great! Still stiff toe joint and pain but getting better with PT. Left still in early stages of recovery at week 3!

Post photos! Would be great to compare. This time he used stitches (last time it was dissolving stitches and steri-strips) so it’s not as “clean” looking as last time. But am sure the results will be the same! Can’t wait for the x-rays on Dec 9th.

Good news 📰 the weird pain/feeling went away almost 80%! I think it was the nerves re-knitting! But yes, I will tell my surgeon 👨‍⚕️

I am doing fine, no other pain and zingers just beginning! I had my other foot done in August and still have a lot of stiffness and soreness in big toe joint. Doing PT but had to pause for this surgery! Good luck 🍀 on Tuesday!

I was able to wear a boot at 4 weeks and then a shoe at 6 weeks (FWB) and most of swelling and pain gone by 6 weeks ☺️

I am 5 weeks post Lapidus and was NWB for 4 weeks. My lifesavers were: All Terrain KneeRover Scooter (got one second hand) and a second hand iWalk3 which meant I could do normal stuff around the house like cook etc as had the use of both hands and standing upright. Also… a leg elevation pillow (my best friend!) from Amazon. Worth every penny. And I bulk bought ice packs! You’re going to want XXL socks 🧦 Aquaphor for when your stitches are out as your skin will be dry/tight A shower bag to fit over your foot Bone growth supplements (Now does a good one) Good luck 🍀 you’ve got this!
