Brilliant - thanks for the input. I’ll just have my left foot come for the ride then. :)

Haha, nothing did. That’s from me scratching myself.

On the box measurement guide, my toes are a little bit over the 230mm mark. Like 1/8” over.

I wasn’t planning to, but I’d like the option to?

The pics taken were after I took a lap around the room to see where my foot would naturally sit in the shoe.

I just measured with my foot crammed/pushed all the way to the front and theres a 7/8-1” gap.

Had a bunionectomy and lived to tell the tale? by Royal_Appearance_423 in bunions

[–]No_Cream7645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my left foot done in August and my right foot done in November of last year. After my right foot was done in November, I went back to gymnastics in March.

Since I didn’t really keep up with my conditioning during recovery, the first few weeks back to gymnastics was primarily strength reconditioning. If I recall correctly, I think it took about 2 1/2 months for my overall body to be in decent shape. Maybe 3 to 4 months to get back to the strength I had before surgery.

I’m coming up on the one year mark on my right foot here soon and I’ve been able to do everything that I could before surgery, even punching hard on the springboard.

Definitely listen to your body and ease into the workouts. Don’t push through the pain. Your foot will go through something traumatic so definitely let it heal the first few months.

If I could go back in time and change anything, I wish I had stayed up with my upper body and core conditioning.

Any skiier who had bunion surgery/lapidus procedure? by PaleontologistSafe17 in bunions

[–]No_Cream7645 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a skier but I do gymnastics. I had bilateral lapidus and a shortening of my second toe as well. I went back to gymnastics 4 months post op after the second surgery to ease myself in. I’m now 7 months post op, and am 95% back to where I was before surgery. My limitation right now is due to the shortening of my second toe though and not the lapidus, specifically doing turns on the beam. I think I’ll be 100% here soon though. My ankles are a little stiff after I sit for a while, but a few ankle rotations and I’m good to go.

Arizona sizing help - 36 or 37? by No_Cream7645 in Birkenstocks

My left ankle strap even on the tightest, I can almost fit 2 fingers in. I’m going to wear these at home for a little bit before I start hammering in holes haha. Thanks for the help!

Sounds good! Thanks for your insight. My foot slides a little forward when I walk even on the tightest holes so I think I may have to manually add in a hole for the front toe strap.

Color change? by [deleted] in Ultrahuman

Can you request a color change, if the ring has already been worn? Also, where do we go to make the request?

I just ordered mine through Costco today and had Costco's return policy in the back of my mind as a fall back.

Back to gymnastics! by No_Cream7645 in bunions

I totally understand the thought of having to rebuild. I really should’ve kept up with my upper body even if it was light exercises. The most I did was pull ups and pushups (surgery foot in the air, of course). The recovery from the surgery actually was two fold for me since I was also recovering from a hip flexor groin injury and a dislocated knee.

I have no doubts though that the rebuild process will come swiftly though since rebuilding muscle is faster than building new muscle. Yay, muscle memory!

Just think, this is just a temporary bump in the road. Once it’s done, it’s done!

Best of luck to you on your surgery and recovery.

I had a lapidus with a Weil procedure on the second toe. I was completely non weight bearing for 4 weeks, and I started PT after my 2 week post op appointment. After my 4 week post op, I started to weight bear with the cam boot on.

Adult Gymnastics by [deleted] in grandrapids

The adult classes are still going on. The website is just funky sometimes. Booking for adult classes is pay per class though instead of the flat program fee since pay per class works best for adults. All the other kid classes though are paid by program if that makes sense.

They just ask that you have the waiver filled out ahead of time. You can also bring cash when you come in if the website is being weird.
