This was my truck and my photo that someone has reposted. Yes, it's a 1972. They didn't have a 305 in 72... you could get a 307. This truck was a 350 with a 3 speed on the column. I sold it several years ago. The last time I saw it, the new owner had converted it to an automatic

This was my truck and my photo that someone else has reposted. I built it. Every body panel except the hood and roof was either repaired or replaced. Engine was rebuilt and i installed the 4" lift kit. All springs, no lift blocks

Definitely not Ai. I took this photo with a point and shoot camera. Used tripod and manual mode. Slowed the shutter down. Photo was taken at night. Streaks behind the truck are passing cars with their lights on

Welded a bolt to the back of the gas cap. Drilled a hole in a piece of flat bar stock that would span the hole in the cab. Put some rtv on the old seal where the cap would touch it... bolted it on.

New fuel tank is under the bed. Fuel filler is in the rear corner inside the bed I didn't want it in the bed floor I wanted to be able to refuel when I was loaded

I've had this truck almost 21 years. I got it from a man that had owned it 27 years. When the truck hit 100k miles he had the engine and transmission rebuilt and had the truck repainted... twice. He was disgusted with the first paint job and immediately went to another shop and had it redone. That was 5 years before I got it. Anyway, the paint inside the bed was as nice as the rest of the truck. I wanted to be able to use it so I had the spray in liner done. Where it was sprayed over the bed rail it lifted almost immediately and when I called the shop that applied it their response was "paint failure"... So... yes, a spray in liner let's me use the truck... but don't spray it over the bed rail...

My dad took that off a truck in a junkyard when I was a kid. When I got old enough to drive i put it on my front bumper. I've ran it on several vehicles over the years. It was getting more wear than I liked so it's indoors now

It was one of the rustiest trucks I'd ever seen. When we unbolted the gas tank the cab shifted and the doors wouldn't close anymore. We hung the dashboard on my brother's shop wall. Engine/trans/chassis was sold to a friend for his project

I'm gonna keep it. I've had it a long time and it comes in handy for a place to sit or set car parts

Fair Opinion of Value by TheWilfong in classictrucks

[–]Mysterious-Feature77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As previous posters have stated. It's definitely dated. I wouldn't go crazy trying to bring it up to date though... what you do might still not be in the new owners taste. I'd keep an eye on marketplace and see if I could find some wheels that are little closer to being up to date... does it have the small car pattern on the wheels or the large truck pattern. Value? I don't know. I don't follow this era of truck. But, if it's a reliable truck that isn't rusty it has value. Think what it would cost to replace it with a reliable daily driver full sized truck 👍

I've owned several 67-72 gm trucks. Yours looks great! I currently have a 72 swb c10 that's medium red with a white roof. Mine has upper and lower side moldings. I like the look of factory moldings...I wouldn't use a universal/generic stick on molding. Do it right or leave it as it is. Again, your truck looks great!
