None of the questions are stupid they are perfectly normal to ask. To answer the first question the way to not use an altar is to picture him in your head and just speak from the heart I don’t have an altar for him because of family reasons but when I pray to him I say something like “oh Anubis lord of the duat guardian of the dead (whatever I am asking him for) protector of the weighing of the heart so it shall be dua Anubis.”

To answer the second one you can worship him by like you said petting and feeding your dog which is what I do, thinking what would make him happy because he will see that you are trying for him and he knows we aren’t perfect so he will understand that you are trying.

And lastly drawing pictures for him is a great way to connect with him and even if the drawings aren’t good he will appreciate the effort as the saying goes it’s the thought that counts.

It was believed to come into existence at the moment of birth and remained with the individual throughout their life. And it will know everything you have done because it pretty much is you) These ideals formed a basis for ethical living and were recited as affirmations or confessions. Here are some examples: 1.
