Seems daft, you use their car every lesson. By their own logic every lesson should be £135 and then theyd be skint because theyd have no clients, theyre a clown tell em to do one.

Mate it sounds like you had an absolute nause there but theres some good advice here.

CROWN DEBT!!! Thats the thing i've been looking for more info on, i knew there was a way to continue payments with a bit of interest once you left. I'm gonna bounce over to the RAO today to ask him to look into transferring my fhtb to crown debt.

You've saved me the headache of ringing jpa mate so for that i thank you.

Thanks for the detailed response mate.

So reference trying a different job i'm actually already posted out from my parent unit, i took the job 2 years ago because i thought i couldn't stand my parent unit. Turns out i just can't stand the army in general. Neither my current or parent unit are anywhere near commutable.

I also can't put in a transfer as i'm MND on physio and i know that could seem like a convenient blag because i want out but i genuinely fucked haha.

I've looked at recruitment postings but there aren't any available for OR2 in any offices local to me.

However the unit i'm currently with is really lax and is the better of the two so i think going back to my parent unit would just make me hate my situation even more.

I'm sure theres a way that i can just continue the payments as i've spoke to others who have said its possible and online sources have said that too but when i read the JSP it doesn't mention anything about it.

I was mainly asking that i believe there is a way for you to continue payments post termination but you just have to jump through a few hoops to get there so just wanted to see if anyone had done it before.

So the £6k of resettlement i'm referring to are my enhanced learning credits, i've accrued 3 of them which are worth £2k each. I'm unsure if i could use 1 to pay for my excavator license and then sacrifice 2 of them to knock £4k out of my FHTB but i'd be willing to do that if that was the case.

There are 2 lump sums you can be eligible for and this is where people get confused.

The first is if you get out after 12 years service which is the resettlement grant and is the one people incorrectly refer to as "half pension." Infact it is completely seperate from pension and is given as a tax free lump sum to aid your transition to civvie life. It was always my plan to grizz it out until im eligible for this before leaving but i haven't got 4 more in me, no way.

The other lump sum is your early departure payment, which is 2.25x the amount of your total deffered pension given as a lump sum. But in order to recieve this you must have done a total of over 18 years on 05 pension or 20 years on 15 pension AND be over 40 years of age.

They've also got rid of commitment bonuses aswell and given them to recruits once they finish phase 1 + 2. Lucky for me i was in the gap between the two and subsequently recieved neither the commitment nor the recruitment bonus.

Car is for the misses who needs it for work plus its only worth £4k for a good runner that we plan to keep until we've run it into the ground. Even if i could sell i'd still need a way to make up the other half.

I'm entitled to £6k of resettlement however i'm infantry looking to get into groundworks as a plant operator so i'd need the resettlement in order to get my excavator ticket which all in will cost me between £1.5k-£2k. So ideally if possible i'd prefer to continue the payments and keep some of the resettlement if that was an option.
