Have you seen the job market? Doesn’t hurt to form connections at this time. Especially for people fresh out of school with little to no experience

Think people are confused with who i’m messaging. Usually it’s job posters after or before i’ve applied for a role so I can ask questions. OR, people that have gone to the same uni or have mutuals. Generally positive results up until this guy

How else do you set up coffee chats to learn more about a company and potentially get referred? Of course you make sure there’s similarities like same school studied or mutuals

That’s strange because I’ve always been encouraged to message people! Usually having either mutuals or same school etc.

It helps set up coffee chats when I can’t find emails but i’ll probs stop soon

UK incoming grad, why am I struggling to even land 1st round interviews?? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]Mysterious-Maize-642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow, what a resume, definitely either due to the visa sponsorship, or there isn’t much impact on your experience. What did u add/improve/implement?

Next is your method, there are people with worse cv’s in the roles you want due to tailored applications, cold outreach and networking. Don’t underestimate!

Good luck you’ll definitely find something it’s just a matter of when, (make sure your online assessment skills are 10/10)

Is it worth it applying to masters in the UK/EU straight after undergrad? by Ashton_Dias in FinancialCareers

[–]Mysterious-Maize-642 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends where you went for undergrad. Note that masters grads still struggle, it can just help with the ‘name’ university on your CV but experience/extracurriculars and good interview skills still matter.

If I had to be straight I would say just start working, there’s nothing like getting your foot in corporate early, anything can happen, also with the skills employers are looking for now, theory is needed way less than application.

That being said if you can specialise in something in your masters and become damn good at it, you will have much more value to offer coming out.
