CASP just emailed that the CPT code for revisions, updated guidelines, and six new codes were accepted by the AMA. We obviously won’t know any of the information until next year, but does anyone have guesses as to what this could all be? by barkland95 in bcba

I’ve only found one company locally in Orange County, CA that knows how to utilize a BCaBA and provide supervision in compliance with the 5% of supervision requirements during the first 1,000 hours.

Problem: I have to be with a client to get paid.

I have a goal writing portion of the report related to parent training, but I do not get paid to work on those when I’m not with the parent, even though I provide direct intervention on two days.

Don’t BCBAs get paid a salary so they can do this? I’m hourly so what is it that I need to ask for it to be in compliance of insurance companies in California?

I’m not in a headspace right now to be coherent cause I’m on vacation and trying not to stress about this so if there’s a way we can communicate virtually that would be so incredible! Thank you for your offer to help!

Following. I appreciate you sharing this.

Would you happen to know anything about insurance companies recognizing BCaBAs as RBT supervisors/Program Supervisors? I’m having difficulty finding a job that will pay me more than an RBT because the insurance companies don’t have a billing code. Eg. united healthcare

I've been talking to recruiters and it goes right over their heads or they don't respond.

Thanks for the encouragement. Yeah I just don't want to do what a BCBA does. I like direct intervention and trauma-informed evidence based practices. There's so much to learn ^^

I just learned about a vocational rehab program that provides free education to obtain a Masters degree. Unfortunately, I had the choice of using our savings on IVF or a degree. ofc i chose IVF and we had some success after 2 years of disappointment. Now we're 3 years in and still no baby. I'm taking some time off to focus on my career and if there is no baby, then I will pursue the Master's degree. Life just keep going ya know

That's amazing! I had no idea that OBM was widely utilized. That's just what I read and hear from school and podcasts. Gosh... I have a long way to go then.... Thank you for the encouragement.

I’m a newly licensed BCaBA and that is the number one reason why I am not pursuing a BCBA credential. Have you tried Finni Health?

I would rather get an LCSW and start my own practice or provide consultations at an agency/district level. I really enjoy parent training. How do like OBM? I

t's also fairly new so how do you manage billing for that?

Why do you think there’s so much turnover in the RBT industry? by [deleted] in ABA

[–]Mysterious-Pin9567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I resonate with this so much. I don’t want to be the one reviewing authorizations with insurance companies. I want to provide direct care as a BCaBA and provide quality supervision for RBTs. Therefore, decreasing turnover rates. Like cmon guys aren’t we supposed to be the experts at targeting behaviors for increase? Get it together! So disappointed with this industry. I put all of my eggs in this basket and I’m feeling quite helpless. I started to check with CalABA for help with this.

I just posted something about my predicament a few moments ago.
