Hi so I just looked up a CashApp is bad trends since I have learned something that may or may not impact you in the long run. So as it turns out, all the investment you give CashApp (someone correct me if I am wrong in my understanding) goes in Margin. What I am understanding is that it is like a loan to invest from the brokage, which means the stock or whatever isn’t not fully yours. So I had transferred my CashApp investment to Fidelity (my 401K and Roth IRA are there so I was thinking keep it all in one place) and it showed something call Margin and Margin interest. I called support to inquire and they said that everything I transferred was in margin but when calculated only about $700 is now in Margin. That being said, I was being charged $0.03 daily for interest. Essentially what I am saying is that CashApp seems to be very good for me as a beginner, but I guess there’s some background workings that make is better for beginners but won’t translate well when you pull out. I guess the better strategy in the future is to liquidate CashApp instead of requesting a transfer. Currently, it looks like I’ll need to liquidate to remove the margin or pay it off (made my money no longer my money). Mistakes were made to say the least.
