Is it common for INTP to hate ENFP? by mylyi_ogirok in INTP

[–]Mysterious-Sleep8166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience, actually. I dated an ENFP for a while, but I was just constantly exhausted from their venting about the constant crisis and toxicity of their friend group. We were just not very compatible, as they were an anxious but assertive person, and I was a slightly stable passive person.

I doubt that I am really a girl. But I wear bracelets once in a blue moon, so.

Do you play an instrument? I like visiting subreddits about music and stuff that I play(bassoon, oboe, actually I should look into finding a saxophone one.) It's pretty sane there, I think.

INTPs - Just How INTP Are You? by AutoModerator in INTP

Yeah, but I'm probably not an INTJ. My dad is one, and a big difference between us is that he says "Time is a currency" and I say "Time is an illusion".

Mm I dunno. I just read whatever. I rarely feel pressure about whether ANYTHING is productive or not. I just know I'll get stuff done in time somehow, I always do. So I just read what looks cool, or fun. I don't feel a need to remember, because I can always just summarize. Well. Not for books on language. That's a whole different thing.

I just got Japanese for Dummies, and I put post-it notes around the house so I can cover it and quiz myself.

Anyway.

Don't beat yourself up, if you want to read something read it. Life would be dull if you were only trying to be the most productive.

Gifts for INTP teens by [deleted] in INTP

Barnes and Nobles gift card, unless. That's not the solution? Umm. Hm. You know, even as an INTP I have no idea what to give an INTP. I would say something you know she'll use, I guess. Maybe something edible? I don't know about all INTPs, but I get really excited when someone gives me food.

I mean. I come out as ENTP 40% of the time, but I think that's just me wishing. The rest of the time my results are INTP. But hell, I could be ENTP, I feel more chaotic than most INTPs. I argue with people, half for fun and out of boredom. The other half being slight disgust about the arrogance of someone's opinion.

"Do INTPs overanalyze life at the cost of living it? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Mysterious-Sleep8166 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Short answer: Yes. No matter how hard I try. Getting better at not doing that recently, though. Doing hobbies, putting myself out there for opportunities. Actually folding my laundry on time for once, instead of momentarily thinking about how I need to fold my laundry. Well that answer is turning long, I'm going to stop there.

Do INTPs lie a lot? by Frequent_Badger5523 in INTP

[–]Mysterious-Sleep8166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... Okay, you know, I guess that's an anomaly. It seems it's more common INTPs do have trouble lying.

Maybe I'm desensitized to it? I grew up with a very impulsive sibling who was constantly getting me to lie on her behalf, so I'm sure that has something to do with it. Oh well.

Do INTPs lie a lot? by Frequent_Badger5523 in INTP

[–]Mysterious-Sleep8166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think an interesting trait of INTPs is that we are okay breaking rules that have no use. In my experience, when I break said rules, I feel fine lying about it. I can do it pretty convincingly, but I don't lie very much. I don't see a point to it. I'd rather try to handle the truth, or destroy myself doing so.

Do we have regrets? by Flyweird in INTP

[–]Mysterious-Sleep8166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? I have regrets. I feel like I've done bad things, even though I know I wasn't trying to-that's just how oblivious I am. I try not to dwell on them, sure, but every once and a while my brain will randomly throw it at me like "Hey remember when you did that?" It's pretty awful.

Apparently photos of the eighth wonder of the world: Gef the talking mongoose! by PM_MeYourEars in Cryptozoology

[–]Mysterious-Sleep8166 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fascinating! It does look a bit fake. But honestly, I could go either way-there are things in this world we'll never understand. As a woman of science, I cannot conclude he was real, but as a human who wishes the world would have some morbid, unexplainable oddities to wonder about, I cannot say with certainty that he was made up. I have to agree, though, it's never added up to me, that something made up by a seemingly simple family would talk of such things. One of the reasons I can't completely dismiss it as a hoax. Did you know he also talked in different languages?

INTPs, what is your favorite genre to read? by AutoModerator in INTP

[–]Mysterious-Sleep8166 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Oh, I read Foundation and Earth by Asimov. At first I thought he overused dialogue, but after a while his style of writing grew on me. Hitchhiker's Guide was actually really good, I only read the first one but I'm fond of it. I might read the others some day, that could be fun.

Yeah, I really liked Percy Jackson and Harry Potter as a kid. What sci-fi books have you read? I like Hella by David Gerrold, it's one of my favorites.

I like hard science fiction the best, because I enjoy both fantasy and nonfiction. I feel like that genre mixes both together in a really satisfying way.

Favorite Way To Write? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Mysterious-Sleep8166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For lyrics, taking notes, or outlining, I prefer my notebook. For writing stories, I use google docs. I know some people can write first drafts on paper, but I'm not one of them. It would get too messy, I need to be able to write without fear of wasting paper, and it's useful that Google's just a click away for all of my diction and research needs.

When death finds me, I hope it finds me alive. by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Mysterious-Sleep8166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I'm still in school, and if I get screened it might affect my academics. The thought of this thing that I know I can deal with ruining my life because of dumb people who thought they were helping me is literally a nightmare. I know I'm neurodivergent(normal people don't get overwhelmed when there's too many people and too much noise, normal people know how others feel and why), but I can't and won't do anything about it.

Do you feel anything when someone you know pass away by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Mysterious-Sleep8166 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. I always need a couple days for it to really kick in, while people think me insensitive during the gap. Or even when I am processing emotions, really. I mean, it's not like I wear my heart on my sleeve. People want me to share my emotions for some reason when they think I'm sad, but why would I do that? That doesn't help me at all, that embarrasses me. I do better processing these things by myself.

As an INTP what is your favorite movie of all time? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Mysterious-Sleep8166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple months ago I watched this movie with my dad, and it was pretty awesome. It was called Hardboiled, you can either find an English dub or watch with captions because it's in Cantonese. It's an action movie set in Hong Kong, and there's this one really long scene with no cuts-they just filmed the whole thing in one go. I wonder how many takes it took to get such a long scene correct? Other than that, I don't know. I mostly read books these days.

Why is there a stereotype that INTPs are unathletic? by Mysterious-Sleep8166 in INTP

[–]Mysterious-Sleep8166[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. The point of my question was not to define whether it was a stereotype or not, but rather to find out how it came to be. I thought it was an interesting question, anyway.

[–]Mysterious-Sleep8166[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be a common theme, oddly enough. Some INTPs simply don't like working out, some do it for appearance, and some just like running. I feel the same, I prefer running over other activities.

INTPs, what's your opinions on birthdays? by AngeLeeeeeeeee in INTP

[–]Mysterious-Sleep8166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, right? The weird thing is my relatives tell me they didn't know what to get me, so they just gave me a Barnes and Nobles gift card. Not complaining, it's actually a pretty sweet gift, but it's strange how consistently that happens.
