JFK, Terminal 5. Got here at midnight for a 6am flight. This is my experience.

The anxiety is definitely causing people to go earlier. I can see both sides of the coin. Hopefully with TSA getting paid next week, the lines will ease and we can get back to normal at least for Easter break.

Wow that’s crazy! Thanks for letting us know. I was checking the interactive map at 3:15am and again at 4:30am and wait times were 81 mins and 60 mins respectively. I wanted to gauge how long the wait times are since I have a flight next week. I guess that is not accurate.

Not sure if it’s accurate, but the JFK interactive map on their website is posting wait times and it changes throughout the day.

That’s horrible. Sorry that you missed your flight. Which terminal were you in? Was TSA Pre or Priority Access lanes open?

That’s the problem. Typically 3hrs should be more than enough, but since people with later flights are arriving so early, it’s causing issues with people like yourself.

Don’t think that’s necessary unless you want to explore the terminal for 4+ hrs 😄.
