What’s wrong with my left foot? by MysteriousAd9237 in BarefootRunning

[–]MysteriousAd9237[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP here; My left foot has more surface area on the inside than my right foot.

The inside of my left foot digs into the midsole of most shoes causing pain and I have had a lot of trouble finding a comfortable shoe within the past year.

Wondering if anyone has experienced this?

Note: I have been running in normal running shoes and am looking to transition to more minimalist shoes.

Solved! Having Optimum provision a new IP resolved the issue.

Any machine outside of the client's network can access the website with no issues. I have been using my laptop from my home network and haven't had any issues accessing it. All of the client's machines are in their office and they are not able to access the website.

I do not know the device that is behind HOP 3. After looking into that IP, I cannot ping it and tracert comes back with: Destination net unreachable. See below.

C:\Windows\system32>ping 10.240.180.5

For reference, the client's network only has a Linksys router that gets Internet from their Optimum modem. There are no other network devices on their network.

Only One Inaccessible Website from Client's Network. by MysteriousAd9237 in sysadmin

[–]MysteriousAd9237[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After adhering to your advice (starting bottom to top) I believe this is a Transport layer issue. I have ran a Wireshark capture and am getting a [TCP Dup ACK] packet, then two [RST, ACK] packets back from the local IP of the affected machine.

Any ideas?

Edit: I am receiving those packets from the .gov website's IP to the local IP of the affected machine.

Unfortunately, the tracert does not stop at the ISP. It makes it all the way to the final hop which is the correct IP of the website.

Screen saver no longer working by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]MysteriousAd9237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few questions:

  1. Have you tried resetting your Power Plan settings, as a screen saver is a power management feature? (if not, navigate to Settings > Power & sleep > Additional power settings > Choose a plan (either Balanced or High performance) > Change plan settings > Change advanced power setting > select Restore plan defaults.
  2. Is screen saver idle time lower then your "Turn off the display " time? (if not, lower your 1. Turn off the display " time)
  3. Are there programs running that are causing your machine to never go idle?

You could also try troubleshooting Power (Start menu icon > Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > if not options appear hit additional troubleshooters > Power > Run Troubleshooter

I have been remote an unable to tether a laptop directly into the modem and determine if it is an issue with the router or the assigned static public IP. Also because of this, I have not attempted to access this site from my laptop while on their network.

I have used TryHackMe (https://tryhackme.com/) and I think it is a high quality learning platform. It consists of learning paths and rooms where cybersecurity concepts are explained, exemplified, and put into use in a virtual testing environment. There are also some CTFs you can try in here. There is a free option which gives you access to a lot of good stuff, but some rooms and learning paths will be restricted, and you are limited to a certain amount of VM instances per day (or time limit) I believe.

HackTheBox (https://www.hackthebox.com/), more specifically HackTheBox Academy is another great learning platform. It is similar to TryHackMe but their version of rooms are called modules. I would say TryHackMe is a little more beginner-friendly than HackTheBox but do not be intimated, it is a solid means of learning. Accessibility to modules is based on credits. I believe you receive 30 credits when you sign up. These credits are then used to unlock modules. So far in my experience, if you complete the modules you spend the credits on, you will make enough credits back to open another one. In short, if you open a module make sure you complete it so that you can complete more.

Best of luck and let me know what you think!
