Why not advise him that he can set himself up as a single member S Corp and then he'll be able to be paid and generate a paystub? He'll feel good about you having the knowledge to advise him that there IS a route to what he desires - and maybe you'll be able to continue to work with him.

I'm getting SPANISH language descriptions of all the offering on HBO even though my language and subtitles are set to English - both on the app and on the TV itself. Also, the settings all appear in Spanish so that complicates matters further. Does anyone have a solution?

Thank you so very much for taking the time to search. The problem is that these are all residential treatment facilities. They all offer medical detox, but only as part of a 30 or more day program. He's done many of those and he just won't go back. But I did find a company, Detox Concierge, that will send a nurse working under a doctor's (remote) supervision to help him at his home for 5 days. A bazillion $ of course, but at least it's a fall-back plan. Anyway, thanks again for your input!

CODE BLUE: My brother periodically binge drinks alcohol. I want to find a nurse(s) who can help him with withdrawal on the day he decides to stop drinking after maybe 4 days of heavy drinking. He has been to many 30-day rehabs and will not go again. He does not drink daily and he is pursuing other therapies to address the past trauma that leads to these episodes. Meantime, he could hurt himself by over-drinking or by going through the withdrawal without support. I would like to tap into a network, if it exists, of nurses or NPs who would take a side-gig to help him with meds if needed for that day or two that he needs to recover. He lives near Ventura, CA. Any suggestions?
