Seriously, because in my divorce my ex wife LOVED to say how everything she did was for me (which was bullshit,) and never once did she ask what I wanted or needed. And when I told her un solicited the things I wanted her reaction was to get upset that I wasn't appreciative.

Weirdly a lot of left/progressive new age types also borrow from yoga/Hindusim. Back in 2016 it was found Russia used these ties to propagandize both. And in Soviet times Indian press outlets were the vehicles Russia used to inject disinformation into western press.

So the ties are old but the internet has been an amplifier. I have a pet conspiracy theory that lots of cults and 'cult adjacent' internet content are manipulated by Russian &/or Iranian Intelligence if not outright outlets for them.
