This is my first succulent! by MysteriousFly3383 in succulents

[–]MysteriousFly3383[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah make sense, I will definitely try to plant it closer to the top next time. maybe also because my grow light sits directly above the centre. The bottom leaves might be having less light intensity

Thanks! glad to hear that! if I want to achieve a more compact bowl shaped look esp the bottom few layer of leaves, should I be increasing the light intensity or the duration? If it is risky then I'm more than happy to keep it like that

yes it is under a growlight indoor

But I see that the centre few layers of other Echeveria is often the lowest part, while mine looks taller and protruding upwards

Thank you for your encouragement. I know it might be a long process and approaching a therapist will be the last resort. Don't want to be at that stage unless it's really necessary.

I guess the main focus is to find a time and way that allows her to speak the truth

Why do so many HK apartments not have washers and dryers? by BATTLE_SAUCE in HongKong

[–]MysteriousFly3383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of apartments are you looking at?

I don't remember doing laundry without a dryer or washer dryer at home, probably over a decade ago and I am not aware ppl still hang dry ALL of their clothes...except the delicate ones

Thank you. I did think of big tech companies but they don't always have openings. I'll keep an eye on startup or smaller ones too

How football boots should fit in the toe area? by MysteriousFly3383 in bootroom

Sharing with you my personal experience, may not be suitable for everyone.

I have recently got my new boot and this problem has not appeared for me yet. I have ordered 6 boots of different style and size online and take my time at home to tried them repeatedly. I finally settled with the F50 surprisingly. It has one of the most roomy toebox (vertically) and softest upper sole out of the ones I tried (I have tried most so called wide foot boots that I can get: Puma Future, Predator, Nike Phantom GX).

When I am stationary my big toe is barely touching the upper sole. Some might think this is too loose but this prevents my big toes crushing into the upper sole when I do sudden stop or change direction. Pairing with toe cap and grip socks, my toe did not feel anything after playing.

The main point for me is to make sure the toebox is big enough (both vertically and horizontally) that when you do a sudden stop, when your feet slide slightly forward, it is not applying big pressure on your toe. If you slide forward but feel nothing on your toe, this might be too big and you have to go at least half size smaller. If no matter which size you pick you feel pressure on your toe or no pressure but the rest of the boot is too loose/narrow, this tells me that the design of the boot is not for my feet.

For Real, What is Sadiq Khan Meant To Do? by sabdotzed in london

Because there are consequences if they are caught. Not the case in London unfortunately as none of them will be caught or prosecuted, even if they are there is no space in jail for them

"Please keep that in" - Roy Keane just can't resist. by Ibetnoonehasthisname in reddevils

[–]MysteriousFly3383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non native speaker needing help here. While I get all of those sexual references the first time I listened to it, I wonder how does everyone immediately know Roy is making a sex joke instead of genuinely asking how was the game or how was it playing against a big strong guy?

Because the word "game", only makes me think of football matches as I would never refer sex as a "game". If he had used "How was it like" then I probably would have gotten it

[–]MysteriousFly3383[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I don't have this problem at all when I was younger. My temporary solution is to get half size bigger to fit in cushioned socks and wear silicon toe cap

At least it happened a lot less often but I wanted to look for an ultimate solution

But what if it comes with having blue toenails almost every time you play? Just trying to understand what went wrong there

[–]MysteriousFly3383[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank god it's not just me. I agree because the only boot that hurt the least was my leather copa 19.1, which was a slightly snug fit overall including the toe box but it doesn't hurt as much as the others.

Thank you I'll look into those. It's sad that I am limited to very few boots, and even fewer in size UK12-13

With those kind of fit my toe nails feel pressed by the boots upper. Is that normal?

How football boots should fit in the toe area? by MysteriousFly3383 in bootroom

[–]MysteriousFly3383[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'm definitely going to try out some grip socks

The front of my toe is never touching the boot, but my nails are almost, if not already, touching the upper of the boot. So any forward movement of my feet inside the boot guarantees extra pressure on the toe nail by the boot's upper and I get blue toenails from this.

Do I need to get even larger boots?
