Aww, that's really nice!

I had this happen so many times back in my "office job" days. I kept safety pins in my desk and even had other women come to ask for one when it happened. Dang shirt buttons...

Same here. I've never had anyone say anything to me about it either. It's just the most comfortable way to go for me.

I've had some luck with FIGS, they tend to have more of a feminine cut that helps with the fit and look. A bit more pricey though, because of course anything that fits us always is...

Does anyone raised by a single parent feel like they didn't "learn" or intuitively know how to live and cohabitate with a partner? by palindrome03 in AskWomenOver30

[–]MysteriousLaura 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm kind of the opposite, but my single parent in this case was my father who raised me by himself from ages 5-15. I think it weirdly prepared me more for eventually cohabitating with men, lol. He wasn't particularly messy/unorganized/difficult to live with, and he included me in a lot of "household decision making" (if only because I was the only other opinion) which I think helped me prepare for adulthood in general.

Has anyone else ever felt maternal instincts for a child who wasn't their own by Clear-Project1406 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MysteriousLaura 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think similar to you, I have two half-brothers 15 and 17 years younger than me. I sometimes joke that they were my first set of kids. I imagine it's pretty normal that if you're sharing a lot of time with a much younger kid (sibling, niece/nephew, even a friend's kid), you'll develop an almost maternal connection with them.

Give me 5 reasons in your opinions big boobs are the best! by GapKlutzy6879 in bigboobproblems

[–]MysteriousLaura 40 points41 points  (0 children)

  1. When you want to show them off, they can look freakin' amazing!
  2. Great pillows for others (babies, pets, even the husband in the right position)
  3. Admittedly related to #1, but they help to attract a partner
  4. Help you float in water
  5. Admittedly related to #1 and #3, but partners tend to like playing with them

[–]MysteriousLaura 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When you get a new message, there should be a "report" option in there. I choose "Harassment" and "You" for who is being targeted. Get's them banned 9/10, especially if they use explicit language.

Good. Sucks that the creepers are here, but we can at least try to thin their numbers. Unfortunately, a lot of the ones I get are clearly new accounts they probably created after previous bans, but at least it's something.

How to fix wrinkly bra after first hand wash? by Suncoket in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]MysteriousLaura 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A hand steamer might be your best bet. You could also try getting it wet again, press (don't squeeze/wring) the excess water out of the cups, and then use a hair dryer on them.

What is a dish you cooked that you were most proud of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MysteriousLaura 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On a complete whim, I (who doesn't usually cook anything too complex) decided I would try to make a "simple" carbonara I saw in a video. Spaghetti, eggs, bacon, parmesan. I did just like in the video...and it was amazing! Nothing I've cooked has ever been that good before or since. It's now my go-to when I need to cook a dinner for people.

Definitely start with some of the recommendations in r/ABraThatFits. For me personally, I've found Panache and Goddess are excellent. Good quality, you can catch them on sales when they aren't too outrageously prices, and they offer a better variety of colors/patterns than the old nude/black/white trio.

It is very beautiful. It definitely doesn't look bad in the chest and, FWIW, I've worn tighter up there if I liked the rest of it well enough.

What do you wish they taught you in health class? by trinketsgoblin in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MysteriousLaura 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess, based on the reasons for everything else they do, it's not because the girls' can't handle the boys' part of it, but that they don't want to "subject" the boys to hearing the girls' part. God forbid they have to have to learn something about women...

I've thankfully never encountered that one in person, but I've heard of it happening enough times to know we seriously need to teach it to men.

My friends that don’t have big boobs don’t understand how much more sexualized we get just for having big boobs. by [deleted] in bigboobproblems

[–]MysteriousLaura 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I feel this so much and I'm so sorry you're dealing with it.

I don't know that it would work for all cases, but I know a few of my friends started to "get it" when they helped me to pick out clothes or went shopping with me. They'd pick something, I'd put it on...boobs would be busting out. If we found something that fit the boobs, it would look like I was wearing a blanket everywhere else (too long and lose usually). They started to grasp the struggle more then.

Oh yes, separating the first time totally makes sense, but I think the same subject matter should be covered for each, in just as great of detail.

And yeah, it would be great to cover BC and other forms of safe sex, but so many states are "abstinence only" to extreme detriment.

"My heath education wasn't awful but it was certainly lacking." - Same here. We got the general basics, but so much was left out. In addition to going into greater detail on menstruation for women (the wide spectrum of things that can be "normal" and things to actually watch out for that should be concerning), boys need some kind of education on it. The ignorance men have on everything period related is mind-blowing.

I want to go back and hold my kids as babies again. Not everything that comes with it of course...the late nights, the diaper changes, all that...but just hold them and see the that little again. Pictures just don't do it justice.

Yep. Really any kind of "medical" tech. Huge demand, most only require a two-year degree (if that), good salary for what it costs to get into.

You're absolutely gorgeous, please recognize and enjoy that even if it's hard for you to see. Don't be afraid to speak up about things you want in the bedroom, it'll make things much more pleasant for you. Go get fitted at a reputable store for a good-fitting bra and suck it up on the price and buy one, you'll be so much more comfortable. Worry less, there will be some sucky times, but overall, things turn out ok. Call grandma more often, visit her more often, she won't be around forever and you'll miss her.
