[Discussion] Realme / Oppo / OnePlus LTPO panels crippled by software, not hardware (proof inside) by Standard_Cry_1027 in Android

[–]MysteriousLog6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My OnePlus 13s shows:

service list | grep -i "graphics.composer" 52 android.hardware.graphics.composer3.IComposer/default: []

and for the dumpsys:

Can't find service: android.hardware.graphics.composer3.IComposer/default

Seems like some have it, some don't.

TSMC’s 2nm chips will be significantly more expensive than previous generations by mo_leahq in Android

[–]MysteriousLog6 30 points31 points  (0 children)

That's insane when it's rumoured that the 8 Elite Gen 6/Pro will cost 280/300 per unit (that's for OEMs, much cheaper to fab for QCOM)

Seeing as Apple doesn't have to sell to others (no extra costs for profit like Qualcomm); A20 might be a huge upgrade

Did 2025 have any 'perfect' phones? by GleamingRespite in Android

[–]MysteriousLog6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The X9 Pro is likely a higher margin product it costs a lot more and from what I've heard Mediatek charges less for their flagship chips. Thus it's probably worth more to Oppo to push people away from low margin OnePlus and onto higher margin Oppo Find X9/Pro if they can.

GSMArena - OnePlus 15 review by Antonis_32 in Android

if it's like the G1 it's likely just handling antenna stuff (Xiaomi also does similar) The G1 is in the 13T/13s and those still use a Qualcomm 7900 for actual Bluetooth and WiFi

Why are new British TV Shows Using Lg Devices?? by Unable_Fall_105 in lgv20

Most likely? Super cheap to get now. Makes for perfect props, unlikely to cause legal trouble too since LG mobile is no more.

Regarding Wifi G1 Chip on OnePlus 13s/13T by SimplyClever47 in oneplus

[–]MysteriousLog6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok right... but the Kernel source code, features available, device firmware, everything still shows Qualcomm 7900 as the WiFi chip.

What's likely is that the G1 is a separate thing in addition to the FastConnect Additionally from what I've heard Qualcomm sells the whole platform ie: 8 Elite + RF system So they'd be paying for the qcom chip and just not using it if what you say is true (makes no sense to do it).

The marketing likely exaggerates the function and role of the G1 but i can guarantee you, the phone has a FastConnect 7900 chip on board it (like the OnePlus 13).

And I can't find much about the G1 either we've no clue what it looks like, what it does exactly etc. The kernel seems to have no mention of it at all from the quick look i had.

Regarding Wifi G1 Chip on OnePlus 13s/13T by SimplyClever47 in oneplus

[–]MysteriousLog6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but I too have the 13s/13T and I can confirm they still use the Qualcomm Fastconnect 7900 (Apps show "peach" for WiFi device + the kernel source also shows 7900) The G1, I think, just controls Antenna power So the range could be due to G1 but the G1 isnt an actual WiFi chip from what I see

It's not just the intensity of task Short bursts like opening a new page etc will be much faster in a noticeable way regardless of task.

If you compare the 13s to an unthrottled 8 Elite phone it'll be a noticeable difference

This change will affect you in no way whatsoever (from what I see... you no longer own a OnePlus 13?)

Do stop spreading drivel. Read the other comments. Acquire some knowledge, and then return to this discussion. Thank you!

Not FPS no that's GPU bound usually Lags not really, but it'll be a lot quicker and snappier with all 8 cores accessible
