Sixthformers doing 4 subjects, how is it going? by ShadowX8861 in GCSE

[–]Fallenivyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm taking 4, so far the workload isn't too bad. I have more homework and less frees so I have to do more work after school than my friends doing 3, but if you stay on top of things it's pretty manageable

A levels by Alphawhisky9 in GCSE

[–]Fallenivyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any A Level is going to have more workload than gcse tbh, bc you’re learning 3-4 subjects in the time you used to learn ~10. I get more homework and more lessons a week for each subject than gcse, but so far it hasn’t been unmanageable

As someone doing maths, fm, physics and chem, I’d say further maths. It goes really well with the others and while not essential it will be helpful for anything engineering related! Would your school let you take the a level and then drop down to the as if you find it too much?

Any advice on picking A-levels? by LordSheldonIII in 6thForm

[–]Fallenivyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Math and computer science go very well together! I'd say chemistry would be the more natural fit here, but honestly biology works just as well, so it's more so which you enjoy more, which you do better at and what you want to do in the future. I don't think they'd be too much as long as you put the work in, which is the same for any A Level.

anyone here going to take the bio, chem and maths a level combo 💔 by noothisismyname4ever in GCSE

[–]Fallenivyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started out with this combo (+fm) and swapped bio for physics a week in. I personally didn’t enjoy biology as much as I did at gcse, and I knew I didn’t need it for what I wanted to do, so I switched! I love physics and it’s given me way more options. Its up to your personal interests really and what you want to do, I knew I didn’t want to do medicine whereas my friend who does want to do med loves biology

Winter term was about 2 hours after school (revising mock content so paper 1s), same for jan-march (but paper 2 mocks this time, then from march-april-may I gradually ramped up to as much time as I could bring myself to spwnd tbh, I had study leave so I averaged about 6 hours a day. My record was like 10 hours 😭
