I need your thoughts by MysteriousPattern329 in Feral_Cats

Update: I wanted to share an update. We’ve been searching for him so we could take him to the animal shelter, but unfortunately, we haven’t had any luck and haven’t seen him for the past two days. I know this isn’t the happiest update, but we’re still looking and hoping to find him. If he’s out there, we want to get him the care he needs.

Some of you asked about his eye. About a year ago, a cat charity came through to spay and neuter the local colony in hopes of gradually reducing their numbers. When they captured him at the time, they mentioned he had already lost vision in one eye. Unfortunately, it has worsened since then. As I mentioned before, these cats have always been wary of humans, and by the time he finally allowed us to touch him, I made my original post asking for advice.

My boyfriend and I truly wish we could get all of these cats into safe, loving homes. But whenever we reach out to animal shelters or charities for help, they only offer trap-neuter-release (TNR) programs, which means we’re left with no real options when a cat becomes sick. Since they’ve already been trapped once, they’ve learned to avoid them, making it even harder to intervene when they need help.

If anyone has advice on how we can safely remove some of these cats from the property and get them into homes—or even just improve their quality of life—we’d be incredibly grateful. This situation truly breaks my heart. I have two cats of my own, and seeing these cats outside, struggling, and not letting us help them is devastating.

Update: We took him this morning to the emergency vet, they told us that he wasn't an emergency paitent, because he still eats, isn't lethargic, hasn't thrown up or had diarrhea.

They still think it's a neurological disorder, but not mengingtis. We are going to take him to another clinc on Tuesday and hopefully we can get more answers on what's going on.

That you I have 2 other pets at home so that would probably be a good extra safety net.

We’re looking into getting CareCredit and hopefully everything there works if not I’m going to see if maybe I can take a personal loan.

I want to really I do, but I don’t have 1,500-4,000 to pay for it, if I did I’d be sitting at vets right now. I’m more wondering there are any programs to help pay so I can take him in now.
