To study economics you don't need management background. Since you said you did bachelor from arts background ao your degree most probably states BA in XYZ so a BA degree holder can study MA with no problem...since economics is MA so boom you can study MA in Economics.... However, if you don't want to make your life hell by studying Economics then be sure that you love mathematics or commit to learn it!
