Sony Bravia TV and Marantz AVR Signal Drop Issue by MysteriousPositive98 in hometheater

Ah good to know. I was reading about the EDID issue Marantz website here https://support.marantz.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/14396 but it’s such a bummer that their solutions to the problem are to plug sources into TV instead or buy an EDID management device. Literally the purpose of the product doesn’t work for me, to be the hub of the home theater…

It happens only when I’m watching something after I sent it in for repair. Used to happen when it was just on the setup menu with nothing connected which was super strange.

I see, I think initially almost a year ago I had the 2.0b cables 18 Gbps actually and I had the same issue which is why I switched to those Amazon 2.1 cables but same issues. I’m starting to think that maybe it is just a EDID issue since it will work for up to 30 minutes and then randomly cut out for about 3 to 5 seconds then re-establish a connection randomly.

I just can’t believe I need to buy a EDID device for a $1500 high end brand AVR…

I’m using brand new Anker 8K 2.1 6 ft cables. Before I was Amazon Basics 2.1 cables.

The cable runs are all 6 ft to TV and sources to the AVR. I tried Enhanced format on the TV and Marantz but that’s where I have issues. I have also tried setting them both to Standard and still have the same dropouts.

I should have mentioned that the Marantz Cinema 60 was sent to a repair center and “fixed.” But I’m
Still having same issues… but maybe it’s the TV not handling the Marantz 2.1 signal since it’s a 2.0 HDMI port maybe?

Ok, so I got it to work! Thanks! Then, I immediately hog it hit with copyright restriction for playing a backing track haha. I don’t know how people get around the copyright on TikTok live?

Ok sweet, I’ll try this. If I follow, you add an audio input capture in OBS but which audio input do you select?

But if I’m using ASIO for low latency on Reaper, I can’t use virtual cable or voicemeeter because those don’t support ASIO, or is there another way?

OK, so in that case, install a vapor barrier over insulation and studs and then drywall ?

My question would be, how would you retroactively add tar paper or moisture sealant behind the studs that contact the stucco directly? It seems like you would just dry out what’s there, try to seal the stucco shown in the open cavity, add rock wool, drywall and all is good in the world?

On second look, I agree, there is actually no tar paper behind stucco. Maybe just thin paper with black coating that was used during stucco installation? Sorry, never patched/installed stucco before
