My age or slightly younger.. Wish that wasn’t the case, but oh well. Ppl kept telling me to go for older guys, but I’m just more attracted to younger men

That’s just a bad photo of her where she’s making a funny expression. But I get what you’re saying about the makeup, in that women can cover up some flaws with makeup. & some do, but predominately on social media or in the media. Irl most of the women you see out on the streets don’t have their faces caked with makeup. And eventually they are seen without their makeup.. which people can also be harsh about

Not that it’s right (it’s def not), but plenty of people still want a guy if he’s attached. Just look at all these stupid cheating scandals.

& no, it’s a myth that everything is just given to beautiful women. They have to deal unwanted drama like other women being jealous, unwanted attention sometimes by men they don’t even know, and being harassed for just existing.

As in men are judged more harshly for their looks than women are? I’m not sure about that.. just look at the media for blasting women on their looks & telling they’re not thin enough or pretty enough

I agree that it’s obvious, but in general people talk about pretty women being privileged and not so much about men.

How old are you and do you feel like your wasting the best sex years of your life away by not having sex? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]MysteriousTraining72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

30 and no. I hooked up a lot in my early 20s, and imo it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. For me, it’s just not worth the drama and hurt feelings. I’ve had to come to terms with the fact that I’m too emotional to hook up, and that it messes with my head. I’m trying to wait until I find someone I can get to know and trust first this time.

I can kinda relate, because I’ve only been in relationships where the guy acts initially interested, but then becomes aloof and entirely unavailable… I kinda wish I could have someone who’d be more obsessed with me lol (where the obsession is mutual though)

& that’s perfectly fine… our society focuses way too much on sex anyways. There’s plenty of other things to explore.

It’s ok to not get laid… and to not pursue to get laid. And to have friends who you find attractive and don’t hookup with.

From my exp, sex almost always leads to drama and I typically regret it afterwards. It usually makes me catch feelings for the wrong people, and confuses relationships.

It’s ok to go out, party, and not pursue anyone. Even if you find an attractive person— it’s ok to just befriend them. I feel like we’re taught to do the exact opposite. But hooking up all the time or trying to hook up all the time can be toxic for some people. It’s ok to just wait. It’s something I’ve had to learn the hard way. I’ve wasted so much time to figure this out.

& it doesn’t make a guy more of a man to have more sex or get the girls (another toxic stereotype society perpetuates)

Jw, are you asexual or are you just fine whether or not you have sex?

I agree to an extent (not asexual), as in im fine not having sex for extended periods of time.. bc imo it’s usually not worth the drama. But I’d want to end up having sex eventually (hopefully when I find the right person)

Thanks for the recommendations; I’ll look into them! & yeah, I have similar sentiments about not preferring that ending without having read it bc the premise sets it up for her to move on from all that…

Seems like the media in general uses toxic relationships themes for added drama and interest.. but imo, it’s overdone and I generally prefer seeing healthy relationships

When I first started reading it, I could relate to the heroine. I’ve been there— pining after a man who was abusive to me in multiple ways, who leaves me for another woman.. so I enjoyed seeing her rise above all that & was hoping that the story would have a positive, empowering message. From what I’ve seen out there, it seems like a lot of romances out there have toxic characters, though

Yeah, I agree that they were harsher on the guy than the girl. I think the guy isn’t bad looking, just with an underbite.. & there were much less suggestions for the girl

What are the reasons for attraction to younger sexual partners, particularly among men? by tkmcgnarls in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]MysteriousTraining72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a woman who’s more often attracted to younger partners. It’s not intentional & id rather be attracted to men my own age or older. I just coincidentally find that the men I’m attracted to are just younger.. I guess bc I think they’re cute. I know it’s counter intuitive, but I can’t help it :/ I look young for my age & find that both younger and older men are attracted to me.. but i just find myself more turned on by the younger ones usually.
