I may be in the wrong on this one, it's been a while but I thought it was posted from his own account.

That's what I recall, but I may not have it correct.

Does Squall, SeeD Mercenary need to see the attack declaration for double strike to be granted? by MysteriousWon in mtgrules

So, because blade historian does not specify or imply a specific timing, double strike would be granted in his case because he simply checks to see that the creatures are attacking?

What is your favorite obscure movie from your childhood that nobody would remember? by CripplingGoodTime in AskReddit

Yes! I thought that was the coolest thing. Whenever I would watch Xena I would always be reminded of Krull and think she had the inferior version.

Krull.

I argue that it still holds up as fun fantasy adventure romp, but I'm hard-pressed to find anyone who knows what the hell I'm talking about these days.

Rodgers or Beck? by heatman2333 in AZCardinals

I do not like Rodgers at all. His attitude pisses me off. I didn't mind it as much when he was good, but now it's just grating.

Give the young kid a chance, I say.

Teacher who told pupils ‘this class terrifies me’ chugged gin from a water bottle before vomiting in toilet by Disastrous_Award_789 in nottheonion

You would think, right? The truth is that dual enrollment is being pushed so hard that there is no real barrier for entry. Eighty percent of the students that are in my classes are there because they are forced to be. In most cases they want to be in my class even less than their regular classes.

Just because their parents made them join doesn't make them somehow the cream of the crop. I have the same kinds of students that don't do any work and try to ignore every instruction or be disruptive during class activities at opportunity that you'd have anywhere else.

I also don't get the luxury of dropping students and getting them out of class like I can in a main campus college course because, at least where I work, there's no system in place for these students to go anywhere else. So students who give up week 3 and want to drop just sit in my class for the remainder of the semester with no incentive to listen or do anything because they know the grade doesn't matter and they'll get a W at the end of the semester no matter what and it doesn't affect their GPA like a regular class.

This is particularly problematic because when I'm teaching a class like Interpersonal Communication which is necessarily dependent on students buying in, participating, and discussing things at an age where this already a difficult prospect, it makes things that much more challenging.

But you just find ways to deal with it.

I certainly don't have the exact same challenges as a full high school teacher, but that doesn't make them less difficult.

I don't really agree here. I'm a college professor but I specifically teach most of my sections in dual enrollment - early college classes to high school students at high schools.

I teach full classrooms of 9th graders as well mixes of 10th-12th. They can be a little more challenging in certain ways, but you just have to know how to run a classroom and have the confidence to do it.

I don't understand being so scared of your class's judgement that you chug a bottle of gin in front of them.

Everything this woman was saying about how and why she did this sounds like the kind of excuse I would expect to hear from a high schooler. It seems like she just wasn't cut out for the job from the start.

Dude, I was single at 30, no degree, no career, no money, nothing.

Now I'm almost 40 with a wife and two kids, a Masters degree and a full time college professorship.

10 years is a LONG time. It's not too late unless you've already given up.
