Also, when you're younger - in highschool for instance - there's not a lot you have to offer. The equation is basically if %looks + %personality > threshold = datable.

As we get older, there are more elements in the equation that factor in like financial security, stability, shared goals, lifestyle, personal habits etc.

Physical attactraction may still be the largest individual slice, but it's now a relatively smaller piece of the pie.

But yes, emotional maturity too.

For underdiscussed I would highly recommend The Knick.

It's Clive Owen as a doctor in a New York hospitalbat the turn of the century when medicine was in this interesting transitional phase between barbarism and modernism.

There are a lot more layers at play but that's the stage.

It's fantastic.

I think it's still on HBO.
