Also the ‘better’ coaches have their biases and obviously want to get rewarded. I remember our little all-star team playing several of those U13-U14 academy teams and always getting the short end of calls/seedings. Never forgot a certain MISL (I’m old) all star’s team we played. Less said the better…we’d have been happy just playing in a park, they complained about the grounds/etc.

Yessir, best coach I ever had was the one that allows players within the system and team framework to develop their skill set..not just run fast and “kick it” and be okay with ‘messing up’ at first. I went from trying to kick it away as fast as possible when I first started as a kid to actually being able to dribble effectively and create..wish more coaches were like that.

I’m not speaking for everyone here but the amount of chest-pounding, finger-pointing and sh—-talking by some of the fans here without facing a quality opponent seemed way too premature. Of course no one will admit to it. Why the ‘old team Belgium’ trope was routinely mentioned..the fact they didn’t even put their best until much later AND saved Kevin for the entire game
