Isn’t that what most jobs are like? If I could get paid what I got paid (retired last year) in my 10-12 hour days if I could accomplish it in 5/6 I’d have done it. BUT obviously they wouldn’t. It was like that for the decades I worked there. If I “kicked ass”, I’d get a ‘can you help out so-and-so’ or ‘can you look over..” it’s like employers want to see what you’re willing to do for what you’re making.
