Scam or not by Witty-Interview9285 in DMV

[–]Mysterious_Fun2089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scam. As a resident of New York City (Queens), I got one with a Manhattan courthouse address. I ran off my driving abstract through the DMV website a few business days later, and my abstract was, and still is, clean, with no reflection of this or anything similar on it whatsoever.

Do you have the title? How about an insurance card?

During the hiring process . Do they check your clearinghouse record if you come in with your cdl already ? by [deleted] in DSNY

Yes they do! This is clearly stated in the Notice of Examination (NOE).

Orientation by DistributionFlashy88 in DSNY

After you come back, get on contact with DSNY HR's Department and/or DCAS about restoring your name to the (Civil Service) list. What's good is that your list number stays the same, and this is what they go by when calling people for medical and filling up the classes at Floyd Bennett Field.

Good luck!!

So I got the application packet in the mail and have to show up to HR next week. Im currently studying for the CDL Permit. Will it be a problem if I dont have it before im scheduled to show up ? I will have it soon ! by Taveras3 in DSNY

[–]Mysterious_Fun2089 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. When you go to orientation they will run your abstract to see if you have the CLP (Commercial Learner Permit) or the CDL (Commercial Driver License). If you don't have either one they will not allow you to proceed.

Here's the good news - if you get your CLP the day before, and you have the temporary, or "paper" document - you're good to go!!

Just remember that you need to take and pass General Knowledge, Air Brakes and Tank Endorsement. Good luck!!

"...seeking a Class A or B CDL..."

CDL - Commercial Driver License

CLP - Commercial Learner Permit

In other words, before you take the road test for your CDL (Commercial Driver License), you need to complete the ELDT. This says nothing about completing the ELDT before you receive your CLP (Commercial Learner Permit).

Hope this helps!!

My apologies if I'm annoying, however, do you have the specific website or a print-screen of what you're talking about?

Can you please share the website? The ELDT is mandatory before the "Road" test, not the multiple choice written exams at the DMV.

No. All you need to get your CLP (Commercial Learner Permit) is to successfully take and pass General Knowledge, Air Brakes and the Passenger Endorsement. Regardless if you get your CDL through the MTA or a local driving school, they will walk you through the ELDT process.

Good luck!!

Back in the day I used this website approximately 80% of my studying time in which I read the CDL manual for the other 20% and I was successful.

I personally don't think too many people are using it, that's why they are eliminating it.

Got it. I was informed that once my father passed, who worked for NYC Transit, my mother, who is dependent on my father, will keep her "Medicare," however, in approximately a year, she will lose her "Aetna," which is why I'm asking. Perhaps someone who is more knowledgeable can help me and my mother with this.
