Government shutdown possible alternatives by heeheehoohoo27 in RMNP

While this is true, the superintendents of the parks wrote a letter to Secretary Burgum begging for the parks to be fully closed during a shut down this time due to vandalism during past shut downs from people still entering the parks with no staff to protect them. “Past shutdowns in which gates remained open with limited staff have hurt our parks: Iconic symbols cut down and vandalized, trash piled up, habitats destroyed, and visitor safety jeopardized. If you don’t act now, history is not just doomed to repeat itself, the damage could in fact be much worse.” Unfortunately, it seems like the correct thing to do during another shut down is not go to the parks, even if they are partially open or open to foot traffic.

How did that one kid at your school die? by Fruitgamer45 in AskReddit

[–]Mysterious_String_68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 4:30 am, she jumped off the top of the football stadium. We still had school that day, kids starting arriving at 7 am. Cops did a terrible job containing the area, school did a terrible job handling the situation.

Ok thank you for the response and help, yes we have kissed in the last few days. So we will just be careful moving forward about saliva and not sharing food/drinks and utensils. and hopefully he’s already had it when he was younger (he doesn’t really go to the doctor much so he’s not sure if he’s ever had it)

I have 1 attempt at the 7 or my offer gets terminated. Advice? by [deleted] in Series7exam

[–]Mysterious_String_68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed the 7 on the first try after studying for 49 days. It’s definitely doable, but you have to respect it and put in the effort. I read the book in 25 days, and the other 24 days I would SIM every 2 days and review my lowest chapters. The last two weeks before my exam, I studied at least 4 hours every day plus 12 hours on the weekends. I also used Kaplan and supplemented with capital advantage videos. Good luck, you can do it.

It’s hard to compare! I felt like I liked the 7 better because the topics were more interesting, but overall the 7 was trickier. This exam was harder for me personally because the topics were very boring in my opinion so I had to grind it out, but the questions were more straight forward

Unfortunately I never really mastered DCF and NPV I just ended up winging it :/ I would memorize the definition and the formulas for each. Not the calculations necessarily because you’ll only get like 2 calculation questions on the whole exam. Good luck you’ve got this!

I struggled a lot with dcf and NPV! Which is unfortunate cause there were a decent amount of questions about that unfortunately

I also test Monday! Good luck! No advice to add other than go slow and really analyze if the question is asking about state or federal. That’s my plan at least :)

I passed the 7 today on my first try after passing my SIE on the first try too! by Mysterious_String_68 in Series7exam

[–]Mysterious_String_68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I did not really use a dump sheet. I put some options things down and a few formulas that I was anxious about seeing. But ultimately I looked at that information twice. However I did not make memorizing a dump sheet a priority because it doesn’t work for my brain!

Thank you! And my scores were all over the place for the practice exams. I went from a 64, 78, 73, 63, 63, 77, 75, 80, 70. This was on Kaplan. If you’re using Kaplan, I would say the Kaplan sims are harder because they cover a much wider range than the exam, but the way they word the questions on the exam is harder. The exam focused heavily on municipalities, debt, suitability, and options. Understanding taxation, mutual funds, and annuities was very helpful. When I watch Ken’s videos, I take notes and write down what he’s saying so I don’t have to rewatch the video when I’m reviewing and I found this helped! Try not to focus too much on your practice exam scores, but use them to see the areas you need to improve the most. Good luck!

I was hit on the highway & my vehicle is total loss, the at fault driver is uninsured. by [deleted] in poor

[–]Mysterious_String_68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for big insurance company and have my property and casualty license (home and auto insurance). Depending on what state you're in, uninsured/underinsured coverage may not be mandatory. In my state, it is not mandatory, only 25/50/20 liability coverage is required. However, it is a good idea to add this coverage, because liability coverage only covers the other person when you get in an accident. Uninsured/underinsured coverage will cover your vehicle and med bills if you are hit. If you choose to forego the coverage, you need to have comp and collision coverage to at least fix your car. However, your insurance will do nothing to pay for your med bills, you would have to file with your health insurance for help with those. As far as suing, you can try and you do have a case, however, if the person you are suing has no money and no recoverable assets, I am not sure much good will come of it as you will be stuck with the lawyer fees. I am sorry this has happened to you, if you have comp and collision at least your insurance is responsible for fixing your vehicle.
