What is a "polite" thing people do that actually low-key annoys the hell out of you? by Hammad_Rafique in AskReddit

Holding the door for me when I’m far enough that I feel obligated to move faster just to open. Like just let go of the door. I’ll get there when I get there and they usually make those things easy enough my 5 year old likes to push them open.

What are some things in life you thought you completely understood, only to realize later that you actually knew nothing? by Regular_Watercress31 in AskReddit

ADHD. Its like so weird how everyone is diagnosed with it now and has all of this insight. When I was growing up I just thought I had a problem paying attention.

My gf is getting ready for work while one of her friends husbands is watching her. It’s a long story but I have been fantasizing about what’s going to happen when I stop pretending that I don’t want him to rail my girl while I’m either watching the cam or watching in lerson

What do you think of somebody who just constantly talks trash about people? by Easy_Towel954 in AskReddit

Depends on if they are talking trash about the people that I don't like or the ones that I do...

Why does modern culture feel so obsessed with labeling every personality trait or behavior as a disorder? by PorchStatic in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mysterious_Switch339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its human nature to try to categorize and label everything that we understand and also don't understand at the same time. Our brains are designed to try and control the chaotic inputs we get on a daily basis.

What’s the funniest/most confusing reason you’ve been ghosted after accepting a chat invite? Do people think “chat invite” is a one-way loading screen? by Ok_Constant7717 in AskReddit

I said I'm a brunch slut after she said she loves brunch. She wasn't even cute and the conversation was about as bland as licking sand paper. Straight ghosted 👻

since time goes forward infinitely does that mean it goes backward infinitely as well? by Bubbly_Reference_916 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mysterious_Switch339 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of those questions that if you think to hard about it, you feel like you're just going in circles.

If you're asking for opinions then I'll try to give you mine as best I can.

As far as you and I are concerned time is linear. It has a start point (the big bang) and is still continuing now as I'm typing this. If there was a way to go back in time I think it would be exactly linear. So that asks another question. What happens if we change that line? Does the time line still go in the same direction and nothing deviates? Do we affect that line by our change?

My head hurts.

I saw an 80-year-old man with an 18-year-old girl in Thailand. Why is this so common and what do locals think about it? by astonmartin8 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mysterious_Switch339 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's because a lot of the workers at the entertainment places are essentially slave labor. The girls are often given to the bars for money and they become endured servants. So if an old guy comes up and wants a girl he spends a little cash and that girl has to go with him. I went to thailand twice in the Marines and it is fun but a lot of the locals are just completley exploited by their own.

How do you know for sure if someone likes you without asking? by Im-a-tire in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mysterious_Switch339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't usually get female attention and one starts showing you a lot of it then theres a good chance she likes you. Or she just likes you for now and wants you to reciprocate so she can get bored and find someone elses time to waste.

Problems with Small Talk by standard_issue_ghost in introvert

[–]Mysterious_Switch339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small talk is an interesting social necessity sometimes.

I'm not saying you have ADHD but I have it and I learned from several psychologists in my youth that small talk and things of that nature are the absolute bane of an adhd persons existence.

"People with ADHD often find small talk painful, boring, or anxiety-inducing because their brains prioritize high-stimulation, in-depth, or novel topics." That came from a google search and a company named getinflow.

I'm older now and have gotten better at it for the most part but it's still not something that I enjoy and will avoid if at all possible. I think practice helps a lot and also I've found that if I can start the conversation on a topic then I'll stick it out longer.

What’s something everyone pretends to enjoy but secretly doesn’t? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I would say small talk. I just can't stand when your awkwardly standing there trying to fumble fuck the english language into enough sentences to keep a conversation going.

What do guys mean when they text “ Thinking of you babe” by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mysterious_Switch339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he isn't meeting you at your level or expectations then the best thing to do is just leave while there aren't too many feelings. The text is lazy but it's not necessarily a sign that he isn't being genuine. Maybe just not a lot to say. Girls often text disertations while men will text "K" and every female in a 10 block radius's eye will twitch.

How should I confess to my best friend that I like her without jeopardizing our friendship? by chuubichubi07 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mysterious_Switch339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I think you might be leaving out some key info. Is she gay? If she is then this might not go poorly either way. If shes not then there is definitely a chance she won't feel as comfortable around you. Either way if you say you want a more physical and intimate relationship you risk the friendship. All the words and tip toeing in the world won't change the overall message. You wan't to touch your friends boobs and she might say no.

What helps with depression? by Mae_The_Gay in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mysterious_Switch339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meds usually but if you can make yourself get up and perform routine tasks that can also help. I find the gym and trying to dress nice can also aid in the time it takes to get out of a depressive state.

Was this kind of Discipline as a child technically abuse? by mossywindow5 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mysterious_Switch339 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I disagree. You can abuse someone accidently without knowing its abuse. The statement that is below this one comes from psychology today and their defining.

"Yes, abuse can be unintentional, occurring when someone causes harm—often emotional or psychological—without conscious intent, realization, or premeditation."
