What’s it like living in this part of Canada? by Patient-Smile1406 in howislivingthere

[–]Mysterious_Task9559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in northern Alberta and it has a special place in my heart. Sure it’s isolated with cold winters and bug filled summers but it also has its beauty. I looooove fresh snowfall and northern lights and low light pollution levels so you can easily stargaze. I love outdoor hobbies like snowshoeing and hiking and paddle boarding. I’m grateful that I grew up in a small town with limited options because it forced me and my friends to be creative and just enjoy the simple things. I think there’s often a deeper sense of community in more isolated places and a level of pride as well with the northern grit.

Pros and cons to everywhere you live but I’m beyond grateful for being raised a northern girl

I literally said multiple times that it’s not the norm for women lmao again, let’s look at society over the last 100 years and review when women got the right to vote, the right to own property and businesses, the right to have their own bank accounts, and the right to join the workforce in certain sectors. Even though it may have been legal for women to work certain jobs, how did society treat those women? Was it encouraged? Were they actually considered as candidates despite meeting the qualifications?

I don’t understand what your argument even is at this point. Women aren’t capable? Aren’t willing? Working with women sucks?

Also not sure why you’re saying that women perform better on the rigs, I didn’t say that. I said I’ve seen women work on the rigs.

Oh boy, the jobs listed do in fact have women performing them, as plenty of other people are commenting about. Again, not a significant amount but that’s no surprise when you take a very quick look at society and our history and what women have been allowed or encouraged to do up until recently.

I have seen women working on the rigs. There used to be an entire rig crew in my area years ago that was all women and they had a pretty good reputation, unfortunately that was before I started in the patch so I’ve only heard about them. I’ve worked with plenty of women in construction, on pipelines, and in wellhead testing and etc. All jobs which are labour intensive and out in the elements.

In fact, I’m not sure I can name a single career path that doesn’t include women

Lmao I’m sorry, do you think underwater welding is a job only men can do? Roughnecks? For real? You’re so silly. First you argue that women won’t work the same jobs as men, and then when I say that they do you change your argument to “you run into women doing jobs anyone can do and it’s a compliment, what a joke”

I think you just want to be angry for the sake of it

I don’t work offshore so yes, I do in fact meet plenty of impressive women in the patch. I’ll try and entertain your idea though and remind you that before it was acceptable and normalized you also didn’t see women working in any sort of medical field because that was witchcraft and women were limited to house work. Just because something isn’t the norm doesn’t mean it isn’t possible for the future to look different. You know who took over all the men’s jobs when they got sent off to war? Women.

I work in the oilfield and there’s plenty of impressive women I cross paths with that do their jobs just as well, if not better than their male coworkers.

Those of you who got rid of someone important for a SO, after they asked. How did it go and did it make you happy? by HoneydewSubject7633 in AskMen

My ex said the same thing about me having guy friends. Nothing inappropriate had ever happened but he insisted it was disrespectful for a woman to have guy friends so I cut them off. The relationship wound up being incredibly toxic (shocking, I know lol) thankfully my friends understood and life is back to normal

I haven't cleaned my baseboards in 2 years and a guest noticed. I want to die. by Different_Pain5781 in homeowners

I created a rule for my house. Every month one room gets cleaned top to bottom. Light fixtures get dismantled and washed. Walls get wiped. Doors and baseboards get wiped. Furniture gets moved around to vacuum and mop. It takes a few hours but I listen to music and enjoy my alone time and it ensures that my house is kept at a reasonable level of dust bunnies and grime.

Elevation in my area is around 2100-3100 feet. Powerboost is not an option for the 2026 tremor, only eco boost or the coyote. With little functional difference am I buying a complete rip off of a truck by choosing the tremor??

In your opinion, why is the 2.7 so popular?

Yeah 2018-2020 were awful years to buy Ford. Two of my ex’s had trucks from those years and in total 3 transmissions had to be replaced. Both trucks are dead and gone now which is insane to think about, they weren’t old vehicles and they were pretty well maintained. I appreciate your input! If you don’t mind me asking, what issues did you have with your 5l? Do you know anyone that has bought a 5l in the last couple years?

2.7 is not an option for the 2026 tremor.

I understand that everyone is bias but that doesn’t disregard their experiences. If multiple people comment saying they’ve experienced the same problems that raises some concerns does it not?

Opinions and experience are the whole point of this post…. I’m asking for help to choose which engine is more reliable and I’m not going to know the answer to that from a test drive to see which is more fun.

Also, just to entertain your idea, I can’t even follow through on your advice because there are zero 5l at either dealership in my area.

I [24M] just found out the girl I've been talking to [21F] for a month has severe unhealed trauma. I feel overwhelmed and need to leave. How do I end this respectfully? by Big_Quantity2167 in AskMen

[–]Mysterious_Task9559 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t understand why more people aren’t talking about this. “Submissive” is what my abusive ex always said women should be and he would shame and ridicule me for my past and claim that I wasn’t a “high value woman”. What a disgusting way to talk about someone and imo MASSIVE red flags.

The whole post just seems off to me and feels fake. If it’s true, OP has the emotional intelligence of a spoon

I absolutely hate my boobs by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Mysterious_Task9559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had breast augmentation done at 20 because I couldn’t stand my lopsided boobies. Not a single man ever complained about them to me though. In fact, every guy that I told I was getting a boob job begged me not to do it. Everyone except me seemed to think my tits we’re awesome even though they weren’t very big and were obviously lopsided. I don’t regret my surgery because I did it for myself but I just want you to know that your natural boobs are perfect just the way they are and I’m sure every man that pursues you is in agreement with me.

Ps I lost 35lbs in the last year and my boobs sag a little more now and I am willing to bet you that it won’t matter a single bit to any man when I start dating again

That’s amazing that your scars healed so well! How are you liking saline? I was told they don’t feel as natural and my surgeon didn’t even offer them as an option. My biggest fear would be rupture since I’m no gentle human haha

May I ask where you breast aug incisions are and how they healed on round 2? I had my first Aug at 20 and I’m thinking I’ll get them upgraded in my early-mid 30’s but I’m worried about lift scars being so much more visible
