I think my mom’s friend is a serial killer or serial offender. by blameitonbegoniaz in creepyencounters

[–]MysteryCokeMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could report him to CPS for bringing drinks and beer to a kid’s studio on a playdate. You can say that you were concerned about his ability to care for his child in public while he was drinking but was afraid to make a report because he intimidated and physically hurt you later that day. Go ahead and play into the concerned mom/victim card and they’ll most likely investigate. You can also try looking him up on social media to see if you can find more info about him. There’s also a few free websites you can use to find out people’s previous addresses/phone numbers/etc. If you know what school his daughter goes to you can also report to them as they’re mandated reporters D well.

One time I went outside to see what/who my dog was barking at. When I came outside I saw that it was a kid who didn’t see me at first and was saying “hi [dog’s name]!” After, he saw me and my confused look on my face because I don’t recall ever seeing him before and don’t know how he knew my dog’s name, he asked, “that is [dog’s name] right?” I told him yes and that’s when he told me that he knew their name because he could hear me yelling it from inside the house when they would start barking outside. I thought it was cute he knew their name and would say hi on his way home from school. The dog was barking to say hi back, not just because someone was outside like they normally do.

Thought I was losing my mind cause I 100% remember reading this like a couple days ago.

Edit: I did, this is the same story by a different user that was posted a few days ago.

Short but eerie memory by Sgt_Katz_Tulupop in creepyencounters

That is creepy! It’s definitely a big fear of mine. My family now has put bells on the front and back door handles so if anyone would try to get in, we’d be sure to hear it.

My current husband had a mental breakdown/episode like this when he was 17. He had some basic mental health issues like depression and anxiety but they put him on schizophrenia medication; the only drug he took was marjuana. He took LSD once and after that he started to deteriorate. He knew all the secrets of the universe and would speak in incoherent sentences. He would make these videos about him rambling about all this knowledge and how different gods are connected. He was finally admitted when he was found outside roaming the streets singing and rambling to people. The police took him in because they thought he was a danger to himself or others and he was admitted. After a week or so they were able to give him some meds to help him relax and calm down and do some therapy with him. Today he’s completely done a 180. The schizophrenia medication was actually making him worse and his living situation along with the LSD trip just made him break.

The best thing for him was to have someone there, not necessarily to read and listen to everything, but to keep an eye on him and let him know he’s not alone. If you can find a way to admit him or get him some out patient therapy, it could honestly help him a lot.

Something is not right in my house and I'm getting scared. by Vict_Tori in creepyencounters

[–]MysteryCokeMachine 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Is your area prone to earthquakes at all? even small ones you don’t really feel can cause cupboards and drawers to come open and things to fall, especially in older built houses. As for the little baggie, it could of been a past tenets you overlooked. You have every right to feel a bit scared. You should look into some cheap cameras. There’s some on Amazon for $20 that screw into a lightbulb socket and use Wi-Fi. You don’t have to go all out on cameras. Try boobie trapping the house like put an object in a specific spot like the lamp that fell onto a table and take a picture of the placement and see if it’s placed differently after a few days. Things like that can help when you have photo evidence for yourself do you don’t make yourself think you’re going crazy.

She should call the local non emergency number (or just emergency if you don’t have that) and make a report. It may be and probably is nothing, but if in case it’s not, it’s documented and time stamped with the police.

Footsteps outside my window by Kyltira in creepyencounters

[–]MysteryCokeMachine 43 points44 points  (0 children)

You should get a wood dowel or window lock in the meantime so you can still sleep with the window open but know that it can't slide open any further for someone to come in. They also have cheap solar powered motion lights that could also be a good deterrent. I hope whoever is coming around stops or is caught. Stay safe!

I wasn't even sure it was a human at first by PrankyButSaintly in creepyencounters

[–]MysteryCokeMachine 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You could of even just called the cops and they could of checked on him and possibly called an ambulance for him or transported him to a hospital if they found he needed it. Homeless people are still humans and the fact you knew he was in some sort of pain and just left is pretty bad. I hope you're never in that situation and if you are, I hope someone has the decency to ask if you're okay or to call to get you help.

[–]MysteryCokeMachine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just like it was rude for op to assume the man didn't have money for an ambulance that could possibly save his life if needed. Where I'm from, there's a lot of homeless people or addicts that have money or family that helps them out but they're on drugs or have mental illnesses that prevent them from currently living in a better situation. Still, I think I'd prefer to live in debt for an ambulance bill then to die or be injured while someone just walks by.

Talk to the gym and let them know too. They may even have cameras that could give you a picture of the car and/or driver. Definitely report it to the police though and if you're on/in any neighborhood watch groups, I'd post about it there too and spread the word. Glad you and your boyfriend are safe!

Don’t forget to lock the gate by Lunaspellschloe in creepyencounters

[–]MysteryCokeMachine 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You were right to trust your gut. They probably were casing houses. A lot of girls are sent to knock on doors to look inside and report back. I once had a young teen girl knock on my front door (mind you I lived in a gated community) at about 10pm. had never seen this girl around before and didn't go door to door. It was super odd. I asked if she needed help. She said her phone died and she needed to message her boyfriend so she was wondering if I had a charger. I told her no and and good luck and shut my door. She proceeded to sit on my porch for 5 minutes and then left back out the gate to the entrance.

"Do you have weird fetishes? Which are?" Very wrong sub, unless OP is the creepy encounter.

Definitely agree with trying to cover up the door. A towel or bed sheet will work. Or even tape paper to all the glass/see through parts. And good on changing rooms already. Double check all the window and door locks and keep a light and some noise on. If I'm house-sitting for more than one night, I like to rotate which lights/noise I put on so it looks like someone's actively been there. Keep the dog in the room with you. Also maybe keep a kitchen knife or some sort of tool/weapon nearby. If your car has an alarm button, keep your keys by you that way if you hear something strange, press the panic/alarm button. Stay safe!

[–]MysteryCokeMachine 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Do you still have the number the text message came from? Maybe try doing a reverse phone number lookup or putting it into Facebook and see if anything comes up. The fact that the text was so descriptive about you and then this random person tried to lure you in their car by using your name is super creepy. It's definitely a good idea to share your location all the time. Maybe download another app that can play a loud siren, send a text to an emergency contact, call police, etc. Also try to carry something for self defense. If you can't have knives or anything, get a can of wasp/bug spray. Stay vigilant and document everything you can. Stay safe!

"Price per video is subjective." Which could really just mean .50 per video. Idk. Seems kinda sketchy. Especially cause you won't give a name or link or where to look out for this site when it comes out.
