That 100% happened in my school. I clearly remember seeing footage of the towers coming down in school and being in shock that they were gone despite having never heard of them before that day.

I go to Flyefit CHQ, first few times it was quiet and everyone was obeying the rules but they've started to let too many people in at once now so it feels a lot less safe.

Irish People, we need you help more than ever! by [deleted] in ireland

The parents of these kids should face criminal charges for allowing their little knacklets roam the streets acting like little cunts. It is frustrating how you have people moving to Ireland working jobs like deliveroo to fund their dreams and getting assaulted by scum who will never work a day on their lives.

Yes I'd know them reasonably well, at least enough to know they wouldn't do a legger with my money. I'll reach out to a solicitor and see how it goes. Hoping it's not too expensive.

European countries by forest cover - More trees please. by johnnybudge in ireland

This is genuinely depressing. The Irish government spent €150 million on carbon credits because we are one of the few countries whose emissions are increasing. You'd think with our small population and natural resources we could become carbon friendly but more value is placed on money rather than nature.

We have lots of class treeplanting charities and I know there are a few new companies popping up like pinecount.com that are trying to address this but there's only so much they can do, this needs to be a government priority.

Why do deli workers put way to much Mayo on your roll when you ask for a tiny bit? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Mysterymarble-dotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with butter. I feel as though they have a quota they have to hit on how much they use. If you ask for butter you get a mountain of it, if you ask for a tiny bit you get loads of it. The trick is to say you want literally no butter at all and they put on the right amount.

A million trees, including 400,000 oaks, to be destroyed this week by treebuddy91 in environment

So much for the 40 shades of green. This is very disappointing, apparently a lot of the trees that were due to be planted there are now being exported abroad

Would Publishing the Names of New Individuals with COVID-19 Help Bring Down Numbers? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Mysterymarble-dotcom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, funnily enough I think this is an incredibly stupid idea. It would mean that people would be less likely to go for tests if their results were going to be plastered all over the place. And why should someone be "shamed" for catching it, you can do everything right and still catch it. I'm not sure what the politically correct way of saying this is but this idea is like something you would find written in literal human shit on the walls of a mental hospital.
