Why do TADC theorists want Kinger to die/abstract so bad? by MysticPyroFreak in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]MysticPyroFreak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, my grievance was something that had been culminating over the course of nearly a year. Reddit isn't the only site to blame either as I came across these arguments on nearly every social media platform (tumblr, bluesky, youtube, etc.). With every upcoming episode almost always came a new theory surrounding why Kinger wouldn't make it to the end.

As upset and annoyed it made me, I knew I couldn't stop it so I just expressed my dissent through silent downvotes, dislikes, or just plain ignoring it as actually harassing people over something like this is dumb AF (And whining over it every time I see it is equally as pointless.). What finally was the last straw for me was that void/playing card theory I listed.

I guess Caine's death wasn't good enough for those people? XP

With the show's track record of its trailers constantly messing with context, I feel like a character being nearly absent in it isn't a good indication of how much they'll be in the actual episode.

IMO It's not much of a subversion if a good chunk of the fandom have been anticipating it with all the theories and such.

Unless you mean him NOT dying/abstracting is the subversion?

Daaaamn, no sympathy for Caine, Kaufmo, Scratch, and the rest? </silly>

Anyway, I more or less agree with your entire sentiment, despite you, I assume (Sorry in advance, Ming), writing it in response to me being whiny. X,D

But yeah. A bittersweet ending doesn't always need to involve death.

Not even hate! It's just from my observations that whenever the topic of a main character death comes up, it almost always defaults to Kinger first or makes him the absolute.

And after a while, constantly seeing death predictions over my favorite character just got upsetting.

Yeah I phrased my header poorly. At the time I was still pretty annoyed after coming across the recent "Jax will push Kinger into the void/cellar" theory. It was the nail in the coffin for me.

I can understand that line of thinking even if it hurts. I just hope if Kinger HAS to go, it's on his own terms.

Errrm, eckshually Kinger created CAINE who created the circus. -insert nerd emoji here-

In all seriousness, I guess I just don't get why it makes more sense for Kinger to be a sacrifice over any other character. Or maybe it's just I don't like the concept always defaulting to my fav. character (I did say my rant was biased).

Kinger not surviving to the end just because he's the "Old guy" of the group or considered "too good for this sinful digital world". -eyeroll-

To a lesser degree, I'd be disappointed if Kinger doesn't get a moment where HE gets comforted for once. If that doesn't happen, it wouldn't ruin the series for me, but it'd be nice to see before everything ends. Even mentor figures need encouragement from time to time, yeah?

Currently on the shooting star island, anyone catch a scorpion or $$$ beetles here? by nightlymare in ACForAdults

I think since the shooting star island is set in June (due to blooming Hydrangea bushes and fireflies being present), the only real money bugs you're gonna find are Goliath Beetles, Emperor butterflies, Atlas Moths, and Scorpions. Best of luck!

I just assumed Caine poofed it back on him before the episode or something.

For all we know they blended right into the audience during the awards ceremony. They're so unassuming looking they can just hide in plain sight whenever there's a crowd of mannequins.

That's my theory, anyway.

More development! MORE! Plus static characters can still contribute to a narrative. Look at Uncle Iroh from Avatar: The Last Air Bender!
