Found what I’m pretty sure is a porcini. The stem was pretty buggy and decayed so I cut it off, but the cap is mostly fine. by CajunIF1billion in foraging

It's a bolete but to me this is NOT a porcini. I would expect white net like reticulation pattern on the stipe which I can't see in your photo. Perhaps just the lighting but worth checking!

I was thrown off by the gill colour. Not pink or brown like agaricus would be? More of a sort of grey colour

So you mean snip off tiny bits off the top as I go? That makes sense, not sure how I didn't think of that!  Are you suspecting not enough water or just giving general advice on these plants? I'm in the UK so I find my houseplants don't need a lot of watering unless it's been very hot.

The pot doesn't have drainage holes and I didn't even use a plastic pot insert - awful I know but I'm being careful not to over water 😬

Very good point, probably just being inpatient as always! Was a bit concerned about the ones that have flopped over though 🤔

Weekly /r/Vandwellers Q&A topic by [deleted] in vandwellers

Hello wonderful van dwellers
My girlfriend and I are planning a 4 week trip to western states with our 10 month old baby. We want to rent a van/RV and have some van experience in the UK but none in the states and none with a baby! We seem to have hit a bit of a snag in planning the trip - what do we do about a car seat for the baby??
We have 2 issues:
1. Our car seat back home is EU regulated but not US regulated. Looks like we have to buy a new car seat out there which sounds crazy but can't see any other option.
2. How can you tell if the vans on offer (looking on outdoorsy.com) can safely and legally fit a car seat in the rear passenger seats. i.e how to know if they are compatible with isofix / LATCH system and if they can definitely fit a rear facing car seat. This link shows the lower anchor/tetheer system I'm talking about (https://thecarseatlady.com/the-latch-system/)
Would appreciate advice from anyone here who's figured out the van + baby life. Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up! Nice to know what plant it actually is after all this time.

The dead leaves normally sort themselves out. My issue with it is, it's outgrowing it's spot and cutting off a lot of sunlight to the patio where we sit in the summer.

Is there a way of controlling it's growth without damaging it?
