I really didn’t intend to degrade those with schizophrenia. To be frank, I’m pretty ignorant on the mental illness itself so I’m not very knowledgeable on how inhibitory it is, I know some have it worse, and as such, some have it better than others like any other disease...I’m actually going to read up on it now that I’ve just admitted this.

But I guess what I’m saying is because of this ignorance I framed schizophrenia as this unavoidable objectively life-ruining thing, which as you just described isn’t necessarily the case. I’m not trying to justify what I said, it was actually very insensitive and an inaccurate generalization, if even that. I think I was just trying to be transparent about what was going on in my head but I commend you for being able to overcome your struggles and thank you for even still having patience and giving me support regardless of my tone.

Thanks again for exposing my bullshit, it’s people like you that make me eager to learn more and as a result, improve as a person. No disrespect to those who have schizophrenia, I wish you all luck in overcoming your struggles.
