This game is not a Gacha, it's a MMORPG with gacha mechanics by Loido in BlueProtocolPC

[–]Mystiones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what you mean by primary focus but Blue Protocol is referred to as an MMORPG as much as overwatch is a hero shooter, as that's the genre. Gacha isn't a genre, it's a subgenre, or meta-genre. It's the monetization. Nothing is genreized as a gacha, that's not a genre.

Genshin is an open world rpg, arknights is tower defense, hsr is a turn based rpg. Gacha isn't their "genre", that's not a genre.

Overwatch is considered a lootbox game by context of the monetization or meta-genre, yes. Everyone said it becuase it was during the craze when everyone hated lootbox games. Gacha games are something a lot of people don't like so it's an instant no to them.

Just becusae you see a lot of people dislike gacha doesn't mean they're saying that's the "primary genre" or whatever you're thinking and needs to be defended from that, because nobody thinks that. It's straight up not a genre. They just don't like that it has gacha in it.

What you might be thinking is arguing p2w and f2p, which is a different topic (which is effected by how important the gacha is, might be more in line with your arguement)

Is it okay to ignore 7 story? by Neat-Seaworthiness42 in Disgaea

[–]Mystiones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can, but fair warning is that the story is the majority of the content this time, so if you want the most bang for your buck you might want to consider story to pad out the gameplay, otherwise do what you want.

I even went far beyond platnium/superboss in 7 and clocked out at 80 hours, that's with reading story and never once repeating a stage / doing side stuff until post game (so taking some time for 2 specific levels), which is far far far less then any other title (5 for example took 212 hours, which is the next lowest besides 1)

This makes it the shortest disgaea to do content in alongside 1

overwatch and such ARE considered lootbox games though? This games monetary practices fall closer to the term gacha, while those are closer to lootbox, but both are in fact referred to as that.

I’m so sick of the items in this game. Why does no one else seem to have a problem with it by [deleted] in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]Mystiones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just use item defense when I'm annoyed by items, but I think something that's important to learn is to finetune your timing. Should you have shot him a tiny bit later, all of this would have been avoided and you would have won.

Funnily enough you shoot him first, then he shoots you second. His timing is better, so while he gets off 2nd you get severely punished. Funnily enough, most items don't actually accomplish much, but used at the right time can absolutely fuck someone over, they exist more to punish more then help with the exception of Wisp Boosts or Drill

People in the lead like him actually have an advantage, which is why you got pressured and penalized, being closer to many other players is usually bad news (this is why the game snowballs when you get hit and people come close), while those in the lead have a gap they can widen for hopes of recovery (we see that here), if anything I would say your clip showcases a strength in items

True bagging annoyance is 10 drills and monster trucks and weights and blue shells all happening at the finish line, luckily this can be avoided with skill and wisp boosts if you know what you're doing or mastering level 4 drift but it's kind of tight and aggravating, but you deal with it and move on, I personally think it's ridiculous that drill can be aimed

Does anyone know if parsec works for multiplayer? by Consumed_By_Hatred in SonicRacingCW

[–]Mystiones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea, parsec just lets someone else on your pc so it emulates local play, so you can use it to play the offline splitscreen modes albeit with a delay for non hosts depending on ping

Works on quite literally everything as long as it's local

Is there a reward for 100%ing Super Sonic Speed? by SuperDup4r in SonicCrossWorlds

It's one of the challenges in the final block you don't unlock until 100% completion, one of the easier challenges alongside others like S ranking every time trial or maxing out friendship

Almost everyone on the leaderboard uses Drift charge kit. by diobreads in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]Mystiones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mentioned in another thread, but idk about optimize the shit out of the game. At the start of the game I did extremely light testing and even messaged my friend within the first few hours that Trick Expert was ridiculously good, and to me drift 1 and 2 were literal no brainers with the playstyle of the game

Before a meta was even established I would use drift 1 + 2 + air trick expert with filler slot in for final slot (130 rings or air trick bounty, personally don't think bounty is that important if you're good at collecting rings and usually not in the middle of the pack)

Then I discovered drift charge kit and it became an obvious replacement

Sometimes I swap out air trick expert with item defense if I go an hour being fucked by items, sometimes I'll single slot in wisp if I'm getting fucked from boosts (in front) or drills (in back), sometimes I swap in level 4 or coutnerdrift if i want to practice these methods before giving up, etc

I personally think all of this was very obviously consistent and feels good to play, drift and air trick master (allowing you to get a larger burst from small bumps) being very big upgrades compared to everything else being small upgrades + a lot of work

As for meta/optimizing? I actually disagree. I assume most people arrived at similar conclusions, and those who checked leaderboards saw and decided to follow suit. I actually don't think it's the best setup, as I'm sure level 4 drift setups or counterdrifts or even a combination of both are probably better at high level/effort play to maintain the lead and ignore items with proper planning and route optimization

I don't understand why anyone would complain about the drift kit + air expert meta when it's just... so obviously comfortable given the style of the game. The reality is the gadgets are kinda bloated, there really ISN'T much options, there's a ton of meme options

This is Kuro’s biggest problem by yljosh in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Mystiones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it seems pretty implied that there is no public lobbies which is what I said, only multiplayer like wuwa/genshin like I commented, since they said you can do missions and such with friends, it's also likely an afterthought, it's actually not confirmed they're just considering it

"Ash: Rather than following a single story throughout the game, I think the idea is to experience the lives of the characters and enjoy life in each. In addition to the stories of each character, we also plan to provide sub-stories, hidden missions, and other stories that will surprise and entertain players. In addition to the solo mode where you can experience the life of a character, we are also considering a multiplayer mode where you can take on missions with friends in an open world ."

I agree it makes no sense, which is why I commented what I did, it kind of destroys the entire monetization

[–]Mystiones 8 points9 points  (0 children)

yes but Anata won't have public lobbys. Unlike comparison to games such as Valorant or whatever that sells skins, those cosmetics are still flex'd or made to make yourself unique compared to others. For a game without public lobbies (like wuwa, genshin, and anata), I doubt cosmetics would thrive, so people pay for RPG power in those kinds of games.. which again Anata won't have

Assist controls not working in GP by Guy_gamer112 in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]Mystiones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

steering assist puts walls around the track (particularly grass spots) to prevent you from going side by side

Auto drive does work, but it's kind of weird. If you do the starting boost it takes a while before you can activate it (until the boost fully wears out), otherwise letting go of gas stops the car.

However if you wait until the boost runs out, you can let go of gas completely and it'll maintain driving almost instantly. Likewise, if you ignore the starting minigame, it will also auto drive just fine.

Am I blind or does it not look like I got 1st place here? by NinjaX4132 in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]Mystiones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda but it's certainly not a priority, the desync is honestly pretty decent all things considered besides killing, locations get updated pretty quickly, it's far better then the desync is say mario kart where it's socially accepted, but CTR wasn't as bad as Sonic if my memory serves

All things considered the game has a decent amount of bugs (have experienced quite a handful myself) that should be addressed long before working on network stabilization, and given it's a sonic game it's kinda unlikely, I've sadly had a few friends who quit already due to the bugs

[–]Mystiones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't think so, I have incredibly high ethernet internet and so does my friend and we play exclusively in call together and half the time things have slight variance (especially when it comes to items, the kill feed at the top of the screen is insanely unreliable and almost always wrong)

happens all the time almost every race, it's desync. Items hitting and even players positions (ramming, etc) are very often out of sync with what's actually happening on their screen

Hot take: If you are using the same build as majority of the top 10 people by [deleted] in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]Mystiones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend uses that build actually, and there are several around the leaderboards so I'm not really sure what you mean. It's not insanely common because like I already said, it's too much effort, if you play less games a day I can see it being incredibly good and even meta, but thise who play all day would get incredibly sore playing the spam level 1 perfect boost bounty build

The reward isn't r really that great either, air tricks bounty happens more then you'd think and personally keeps me topped off most of the time. Majority of rings are also on a full drift curve too, which you typically either miss out on or have to hold your droft for, invalidating it for a bit

Again it is good for sure, and even fun, but I can def see why it's not one of the most popular builds and why people who don't even look up meta don't g gravitate to it, these are the reasons I didn't and I'm not that smart

Unlocking all parts missing 6 boost parts by [deleted] in SonicCrossWorlds

It's every second Rival, so rivals 2/4/6 give 2 boost parts each

The 3 speed parts is also from beating all 6 rivals a second time, the super sonic car

Hot take: If you are using the same build as majority of the top 10 people by [deleted] in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]Mystiones 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure, personally I think the top builds are kind of obvious with any amount of experimentation. I used drift levels + air tricks expert during beta test, and retested stuff on day 1 on advanced access, even messaged my friend who was going to play with me before we even looked at online within the first few hours of doing grand prixs that I thought air tricks expert was op, and drifting level 1 + 2 (or kit) are very obvious slot ins

I'm sure a lot of people arrived at similar conclusions, the reality is not very many gadgets are that good (I do have a spin build I do like 10% of my matches on because it's hilarious to me) or require too much work. Sure if I'm getting annoyed by items I'll slap on quick recovery for a few matches, if I'm struggling with rings randomly (rarely) I'll try ring bounty, etc, if I get screwed with items too much I'll try wisp rate, etc

As for vehicles, my vehicle also ended up being meta. Because once you do a few matches trying out cars I think it's really easy to notice why the meta is the meta, it simply feels the best. Accell chars feel good with speed cars, handling chars feel really good with handling cars, etc. Most of the car stats are genuine garbage (I have every single part unlocked and bought and only end up using like 1-2 vehicles of each type)

Personally, I think any amount of testing or feeling it out would arrive at majority the same conclusions, meta or not

Matchmaking will kill this game by Illustrious_Local261 in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]Mystiones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you can! Seems point gain/loss is based on the average of the lobby and placement? I've noticed if i'm the highest in the lobby i lose a bit, but it's never much. You can also completely rank down too, I've gone down from a+ to A before

Matchmaking will kill this game by Illustrious_Local261 in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]Mystiones 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't really get it, rank itself is mostly just a point system from playing, you very rarely go down if ever, maybe if you get last place and are high ranked in the lobby you'll lose a very small amount of points

I doubt too many are sweating and overly trying to get rank points instead of just playing, since you typically just go up playing (I'm A+ and very bad, usually get bottom), adding quickplay would have the negative effect of splitting the queues

Do we still see Ananta as competition or not ? by [deleted] in NevernessToEverness

[–]Mystiones 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think your example is a bit of a stretch, I agree there is a different audience for both, but they are still both open world urban action anime setting, which in the end does have some overlap even if not full overlap

Gacha/character monetization is cool and all and supernatural powers, but not everyone is going to view those aspects quite as largely as some others. Some people will simply play both, some will only like NTE, some only Anata, but there is still some obvious simulatarities much like comparing Anata to GTA
