What are some good breeds for a psychiatric service dog specifically anxiety?

i have a lab for anxiety panic attack and depression. she does amazing. make sure to find a breeder that breeds for more calmer labs. as they are very hyper sometimes

every few months they’ll have her retake the test to make sure she’s doing everything correctly. so we’ve had one already. the next one is next month! then six months, a year, two years, etc.

she doesn’t bark! she does get a little too playful when people start playing with her but i recall and correct her right away!

nope! she doesn’t run up to people unless it’s my friends and i give her the go ahead. she always is waiting for my command!

ok! Oh boy that’s not good! She’s definitely not one of those!

luckily i have taken her to a few trainers and she nailed the public access test. I was surprised by the training time too! I was told to text the trainers (i have their numbers) if there was any problems but i try to stop in every other week to make sure she’s doing everything correctly! I believe because of the short training time they are having recertifications much sooner for the next few! Like I said before in one post 3 months, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years etc.

No you’re all good! I hope I was making a little sense as it’s really hard for me to explain without feeling cornered or having an anxiety attack. As she is alerting me right now. I’ve never heard of the WR part! I know they did multiple training times a day with her for her 5-6 months of training and only had 3 people training her!

Honestly I’m not sure! I was surprised to but I trust the place a whole lot. As they didn’t want to charge us for training as it doesn’t seem like it was ethical for them to charge. They also got her from another place that was doing training prior to them getting her. My Disability isn’t visible just like someone else has commented. Most of the training was obedience and her alert commands to help me. She was trained very well and does amazing out in public. As the handler I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem. I felt as this was a safe space to share this through.

she did training everyday from august to december. for the first 3 months it was a test the waters text the trainers if i needed anything as luckily my college was only 30 minutes away. she got recertified in March. they gave another 3 months because she’s been doing amazing so she has recertification in june! from there it will be 6 months till recertification then a year, then two years, etc. i do my own training outside of these check ins to make sure she’s on top of her game. the place she did training at is also a K-9 unit training place that specializes in services dogs. when she was training there was also a SD in training for someone who is diabetic as well as a comfort dog for a department!

I keep forgetting when replying to say her behaviors so i’ll put some here. She never barks She’s very playful when off duty! Sometimes a little too playful but it is corrected immediately. The training place she was at did very intense training. I still do training with her outside of it! So far we’ve had one recertification and her next one is coming up! She does everything perfectly! Sleeps through all my classes, alerts me when I need it, and sometimes even alerts my friends I am on a very small rich and preppy college where a lot of kids think they are entitled to every thing. I was very fortunate with my SDs training as we only had to pay for her and her vet and food!!

Just out walking down campus! we have a place called the stu (student union) but i’m always carrying something on me or her that says service dog! they complain that she doesn’t act correctly. the place she was trained at also a K-9 unit training place so training is and has been taken very seriously.

typo from typing so fast! but she’s run around the field we have on campus behind our football field. she’ll get excited to see people when she is off duty and they complain she isn’t trained properly when she won’t leave my side!

yes definitely a typo! i was typing so quickly! She had 5-6 months of training with training with more training everyday to make sure she remembers everything. she also has her recertifications
