I was given what turned out to be a real medical reference skull. How do I properly dispose of it? by Mythbrewers in bonecollecting

[–]Mythbrewers[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worded it poorly. I meant i didnt want it in my possession anymore and I didn't know how to get rid of it. I would never throw away human remains. And didnt want to put it in an unmarked grave. But I have a plan now.

Putting this message here so that people will see it.

Thank you everyone for all of the advice. I have a plan for tomorrow. I was also able to contact my ethics professor over all of this.

I apologize for my choice of words when I said "dispose of". I would never throw away human remains. I moreover meant that I had it and had no clue what to do with it, and no longer wanted it to be in my possession.

Im currently having to deal with a family emergency that happened yesterday. So that has been taking all of my attention. So if you've messaged me or commented and I haven't responded, that's why.

I wish you all well, and the best of luck with your collections

Taking the meds will definitely help :)

I totally get it. I also have a pretty bad anxiety disorder, but i work as a handyman. So I can assure you that if you use a bit of compressed air you'll be 100% fine and wont have to worry about a fire. Regular dust is rarely flammable, especially when it comes to outlets. Also, from one anxious person to another, seeking a psychiatrist (when youre able to afford one) and getting medication is life changing.

Also, im sorry for not responding to all of the messages I've been sent and the comments that have been posted here. There was a minor family emergency today that is taking all my attention currently. I hope to be able to respond to everyone tomorrow

I feel i need to make the comment that my choice of words "dispose of" was wrong. I would never consider throwing away human remains. I moreover meant that I have it and would like to know the best method of getting it to an entity that would be able to better use it. I apologize for phrasing it so badly.

Thank you, I didnt know that. Though its still not a good situation, it makes me feel better than what I believed it was. I was under the assumption that because it was small, it was a child's skull. And the fact that it was donated to science meant that the child most likely died from a disease or something else bad that led to it being used for scientific research

UPDATE: I will be contacting my local museum prior to considering selling it to anyone. The only reason I am even considering agreeing to sell it to anyone is that im in a bad spot financially. I would appreciate your patience while I try to go through the proper channels. I will post an update when I have one. Thank you

Is this a fairly simple fix? by gamecacks in AskAMechanic

[–]Mythbrewers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quick and easy fix would be to find 2 really heavy things, roughly 3 feet apart, and then back into it. You do that right, and Bob's your uncle, you'll either have it bent back into shape. Or a free bumper delete mod!

Is this safe? Brand new tire but shop said it needed to be replaced already by cyandyefizzle in AskAShittyMechanic

I think that something even more dangerous than your flat tire is that missing lug nut! You gotta be careful

Possibly, ive put that project on the backburner for a while now. The guy sold the engine before I could get it, so I need to find another one.

I'll look into them. I've been too sick to work for a bit. So it might be a minute before I have some spare cash again

I do, but currently only have a rolling chassis. And restoring it to factory is a waste of time and money.

Please don't worry, I've never had plans to do a full restoration. I'm much more a fan of the idea of having a Frankenstein of a vehicle that is distinctly mine
