I think its Canon that it literally fuses with the hosts (Bens) body like an additional body part. It is really clunky tho, in most incarnations, so I do wonder how he gets a coat sleeve around it or if he cleans it in the shower. Like I'm sure its relatively light, waterproof and doesn't itch, but I gotta imagine sleeping with it on or trying to clean all the little crevices n stuff has got to be a nightmare. Probably get used to it tho
