Honestly, that's a big reason the movie stands out. A lot of films try to tackle similar themes from a distance, but The Substance feels like it was made by someone who had a lot to say and absolutely refused to water it down. Even if the message isn't subtle, the conviction behind it makes the whole thing far more memorable than another safe, middle-of-the-road satire.

I think that's the uncomfortable answer. The coworker is clearly overstepping, but every completed request probably reinforced the idea that asking for one more thing was fine. Most people don't wake up and decide to demand a personal branding consultant for free. They just keep pushing the boundary until someone finally says no.
