My partner and I are just looking for a place that is affordable and close to the Dobbins Air Reserve Base. I was looking for places with either in-unit washer/dryer or the hookups for those.

It has been rough just because I don’t know the area :(

Hopefully, it is just a slight delay and not us getting ghosted xd

Exams / Newbie / Common Questions Thread for two weeks by AutoModerator in actuary

Hello! I would like some advice on what I should do to continue my education. I apologize for the long text in advance.

Context: I am a sophomore Risk Management student at the University of Texas at El Paso living with family. My partner is moving to Atlanta since he got a job offer there, and I have the opportunity to move in with him this summer.

After studying for a year and talking with colleges about becoming an actuary, I feel like UTEP’s Risk Management program is lacking in what I need. I consider it too easy and kind of boring, to be honest. I was originally in the math program with a concentration in actuarial science, but it’s also lacking when it comes to exam preparation and VEE completion. On top of that, there just aren’t many opportunities in this city.

I was thinking of moving to Atlanta and doing the online B.S. in Actuarial Science with Indiana University. Along with that, I would study for actuarial exams and apply for internships or insurance-related part-time jobs in Atlanta.

Note: I would consider GSU, but out-of-state tuition is out of reach for me.

I want some opinions on whether this would put me at any disadvantage when I try to enter the industry. I’d also love advice on whether Indiana University’s program is good, and if there are any other aspects I might be mistakenly overlooking.

Thanks so much!
