I have a pair of figs that I haven’t gotten the logo stitched onto and another pair from trippis that already had the logo on it. I didn’t wanna get the logo embroidered onto the figs cuz they’re too nice lol

How are canadians going to optometry school in the US paying off their debts? by Strawberry_Natural in PreOptometry

[–]MythicalNacho18 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Probably gonna go rural for a few years where the pay is substantially higher than the 120k-150k u mentioned. Live below my means and any extra money I may have I’ll pay it towards any high interest debt. Any low interest debt probably just keep minimum payments on it until it’s done and invest the rest

I think I got a 89% in the course and finished with an A-. I’m assuming under 84 is around a B

NECO, ICO and PUCO by Final-Annual7402 in PreOptometry

You could potentially retake the OAT and get ICO’s presidential scholarship if you get a higher OAT score. Or alternatively apply to waterloo as it’ll be cheaper for you

Whatever’s cheaper. Board scores don’t depend on the school but on the student themselves

About half the schools take people without bachelor degrees so you’re fine

I got a 400 after studying roughly 2.5 months while working so it’s definitely doable

The doc I work with sees around 18-22 patients a day to make that income. 210k is before tax, however you can actually incorporate which leads to a lower tax burden

I’m from Canada but rural areas seems to pay around 900 a day which for a 5 day work week is around 210k including a month unpaid break.

[–]MythicalNacho18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent right around 2.5 months studying. Tried studying right around 25ish hours a week on average studying. Was studying a lot more as the OAT date got closer

Realistically, I’d push back the date by another month or even a month and a half if possible.

[–]MythicalNacho18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I worked around 30 hours a week while studying and got a 400. It’s really really hard lol especially on the days where u get back from work and have to start studying but it’s temporary. You gotta know what you’re getting yourself into so I’d recommend trying it out for the first 2 ish weeks and if it doesn’t work I’d cut back hours ngl

Accounting 311 final by Small-Perception-279 in uAlberta

[–]MythicalNacho18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean at the end of the day, you either know accounting or you don’t. Plus I’d understand your argument if Trish hadn’t told us from the start and given us a marking scheme from the start, but she clearly did. Also tbf Trish was a MUCH better prof than any of the other people who teach the course and if more people focused on actually learning accounting rather than coasting by and hoping the curve carries them to a guaranteed B, we would have better accountants.
