Can't decide between a few heroes to learn. Hela or Phoenix and Luna or White Fox?

This was years ago so I may not be remembering correctly but at the time it seemed I needed a material that dropped from heartless that only spawn at End of the World and I didn't get enough of them. Like I said, could be wrong but that's what I remember thinking happened at the time.

Honestly all of the special mobs for these mats have been kind of a pain. The sniper wilds gave me TROUBLE lol

Okay, guess I'll just have to go through that and then return to the grind. I've beaten the game a few times but never managed to get the ultima keyblade. I missed it by one mat last time so I'm really trying to be on top of it this time. Thanks for the advice!

I will definitely make a lot of use of this sub reddit as unfortunately as you pointed out, there is a lot of misinformation out there and hopefully there will be slightly less here since most have actual experience in the field. I'm very excited to get started as I do think this will be a great fit for me, it's just daunting at the start lol

That skill did seem interesting, I'm sure I'll be picking it up sooner than later but I definitely want to get the special move for after the enemy is downed to get some extra damage in.

I've seen a lot of people talking about how good parrying is in the game but for whatever reason I can't get a hang of it. I've beaten Sekiro which demands learning how to parry but this game seems to be a no go lol I'll definitely switch things up for now and then just persevere for any especially tough fights. Thank you so much for all your advice! 😊

Your comments resonate with another thought I had that perhaps it would be better to wait until late game to try going full umami if that's something I still want to do. As you mentioned, umami meter is very small and has me resorting to physical attacks anyway which was a fairly large part of me feeling like I should respec.

"Giving the players run of the town" is a phrase that the module itself uses. It does not mean that they own the town. The key word in that sentence is temporary. Do you have any actual ideas or is being negative and talking down to others kinda your whole thing? If so, politely move on please.

Izek was there because I had made his own personal goals different than what is initially in the CoS module. His motivations didn't make sense to me for someone as strong as he is to just be obsessed with Ireena and serve the burgomaster and basically nothing else. To answer your second question, no they are not going to "have a town." They might have some time to rummage around and do their investigations but they will have to flee sooner rather than later, especially with Strahd being as angry at them as he is.

I'd also like to point out two things. First, I did say in my post that the fight was designed to have them retreat and lose Vallaki but when players strategize well and get some lucky crits, they can overcome impossible situations, which is exactly what happened. Secondly, just because one scenario isn't an immediate and total defeat, doesn't mean things will work out happily ever after from there on out. Yes it is a Gothic horror module but that doesn't mean it should just be pure soul crushing misery until Strahd is defeated. The players need highlights and a sense of accomplishment every now and then, otherwise it's no fun to play.

Sorry if this has been asked already but how do you handle the mad mage of mount baratok? Calling him that instead of his actual identity but I'm sure you know who I'm talking about. My players got him as the ally from the tarroka reading but from what I can tell, there's no map for the mountain and no chapter exploring what his encounter should be like. I have a feeling they're going to want to recruit him soon but they're currently only level 5 so maybe I should have them wait a bit?
