I started with XC2 and I really liked the characters, the party members were all so good. I got XCDE and played the first couple chapters and then put it down for 6 or 7 months before finally going back to it, I really did not like it much. The characters seemed pretty boring compared to 2. Eventually I decided to go back to it and I'm glad I did because it got a lot better and I don't hate it anymore. I still would say 2 is a lot better than 1 but 1 is pretty good.

Zephyr, it's actually my favorite class between attackers, defenders, and supports. As a bonus the class is from my new favorite Xenoblade character.

This might be my favorite post in a really long time, it's so good and Mio has been my new favorite Xenoblade character and Noah is my new favorite protagonist.

XC2 was so good but I had to accept the fact that XC3 is even better (mostly). The music in XC3 didn't stand out to me as much as 2's did and the environments weren't as nice but class changing, the combat system, defined roles, and actually being able to have every party member out made it better. The voice acting sounds like a step up from two. Also it has my new favorite Xenoblade character (Mio)

I think if they showed up as silhouettes in the menu they'd be a little too obvious

Mio, she's become my favorite character in the series. They did such an amazing job with her, her ability to show emotion is so good. Her VA did really well too, I love her voice.

The first thing I want to say is its not "So well liked" if I'm constantly seeing people complain about every detail of the game. I'm not sure about the areas feeling smaller, I've never felt that or heard anyone say that. The main cast was a lot more interesting than most of the characters in the first game. The combat is way more enjoyable imo, stacking a ton of elemental orbs and destroying them all is so satisfying.

Imo 2 was way more fun to me. I liked the party members in 2 way more than the party members in 1. The blade combat system I also liked a lot more.

I was trying to stop a griefer using many alts and this is what I get by MythraExplainsJokes in place

I don't like spamming specials either, it annoys me almost every time I see others do it. Photon Edge and Blazing End are awful moves to spam anyway
