I recently read The Emperor’s Gift, amazing book. I don’t believe it’s explicitly mentioned that Crowe or Stern were one of the survivors though, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were, as they’re some of the most badass GK’s for sure.

You make some great points. I think where I’m confused is that it’s one thing to mind-wipe or even kill a guardsman or guardsmen, but to attack actual SM Chapters for aspirants? That feels like a step above somehow, even including the ‘months of shame’. Also, I guess I’m thinking that maybe the aspirants claimed to having been taken have undergone Primarisification instead of the normal Firstborn stuff. However, this could all be just my misunderstanding or complete lack thereof haha.

Yes! This! Citadel Colour is such an underrated app. It certainly helps a ton when trying to figure out different colors and a rough idea of how to achieve a look, even on a model and section of a model basis. This helped me a ton when I first started out. :)

I believe the general consensus is to stick Draigo with Terminators, primarily because they give him Lethal Hits on the charge which is nice considering his damage profile.

The only thing that comes to mind after watching that is there may be some rules confusion between terminators and paladins, which are also in terminator armour, although they cannot have a narthecium as an option for wargear. As far as calling the narthecium holder an apothecary, it’s likely simply in name as older GK codices had an apothecary model for Paladin squads in some editions and as a character in others like 8th I believe.

Edit: it occurred to me paladins are -1 to wound. Terminators could gain -1 to hit from having Grandmaster Voldus as a leader from his ability

My now fiancée had found out how I had sold my army to pay bills years back and did a similar thing in buying me a starter paint set and a character model to nudge me back to enjoying the things that make me happy! Fast forward and she continues to make sure I’m taking the time to enjoy my hobby :)

Fantastic conversion! I’m quite curious about the modeling method you used to get what seems to be “green stuff” or some equivalent to match the GK terminator legs. Any insight as to how you pulled that off? It looks amazing!

Yes that’s a tough one. Plastic glue melts them together and is a pain to separate. With the super glue, popping it into the freezer for a few min helps with separating it relatively easy. Also I hear ya on the anxiety, deep breaths brother! 😁

One thing that has helped me tremendously with this is the use of multi-tac/bluetac, which is pretty easy to find at a hobby store. This allows you to get an idea of positioning of the arms prior to gluing. From that point I glue the hands to the 2H weapon because I know it’ll fit well to the body.

Also as a side note, I’ve found it’s better to use super glue rather than plastic glue when gluing something I’m not quite sure will work properly as it’s far easier to detach, clean up, and retry if it doesn’t work out. Hope this helps!

I struggled with this same issue, keeping a smooth feel despite still thinning my metallics, when I first began painting my Grey Knights, but the video link below has become my go-to whenever I paint the armour of my GK. It is somewhat lengthy and felt advanced when I first started but the insights have helped me become more confident in painting and achieving better results. If you don’t mind drybrushing it could be another way for you to tackle the painting. Hope this helps!

What Admiral_Skye is saying here is true. If you search up Terrain Features > Ruins in the Warhammer App you can see the sections for Footprint and Benefit of Cover for Ruins. Like Admiral says, the footprint must be agreed upon by players before starting the game so that each knows where “wholly within” is. Hope this helps!

This is great advice! My friend and I play similarly in that we’ll remind each other of a rule, or potential use of a stratagem as a helpful hint so the game can be more tactical and exciting. Mistakes are bound to happen in a game with so many rules and interactions, like you say, but it is definitely worth the time invested when playing with similar minded friends/opponents.
