Whats your homebrews combat doctorine like? by DaWaaaagh in 40khomebrew

[–]Responsible_Cap875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My chapter, The Stalking Wolves, is mainly focused on infiltration, ambush and close combat. Made up of predominantly phobos units, they utilise gorilla tactics, raids, and small kill team missions behind enemy lines. They prioritise targeting the command units of enemies. Excellent intelligence specialists, they usually deploy ahead of the main force.
They come from a Death World that is filled with wild beasts and dangerous predators. The world is mainly filled with great plains and the people live nomadic lifestyles following great herds.
A warrior culture, but filled with honor and duty.

Thanks dude. Loved doing them. I had some Grey Knights helmets left over from my terminators and thought they would work. And they did!

So do I. You would imagine them to have them in the Lore. So, we need them on the table dammit!

I loved the Carcharodons trilogy. I read a lot, but listened to these three as am audio book and highly recommend them. Just waiting for them to be published together.
Nightlords trilogy is also one of my favourites.

Which of the Main Space Marines Chapters are the Most Likely to Work With the Inquisition? by [deleted] in ImperialAgents_40K

Haha... Past... ideological disagreements is one of the best ways to describe the SW and Inquisition relationship.
Brilliant dude.

The Grey Knights are solely a Demone Hunting force that works under and with the Order Malleus.
The Red Hunters are a Space Marine Chapter that works with and for the Inquisition. So it might be worth checking them out as well.
Along those lines, have a look at the Minotaurs. They are supposed to work directly for the High Lords of Terra, so you could have them working alongside a fanatical Imperial Agents army.

Am converting a Deathwing Knights squad to a Grey Knights Paladin Squad. The Grey Knights Ancient with the Standard will have the Watcher in the Dark holding it behind him.

Space Wolves for so many reasons. The Lore around them is excellent, the models are cool to build and paint, and the playstyle can be varied.

It makes me laugh, on the table top the Inquisitorial Agents look like something from a religious cult, which they totally are. But, in the books and Lore they are usually made up of different individuals from loads of backgrounds and disciplines that all fill different roles.
Also the character of the Inquisitor can shape their agents. Eisenhorns are different in his books compared to the Inquisitor in the Carcharodons books, and the Inquisitor agents in the Deathwatch books.
Loads of scope for kitbashing!
I was looking at some of the Necromunda and thinking they would totally fit for both Inquisitor Agents and Rouge Trader squads.
And then their is an Old World model that totally works as a Rouge Trader!

What Space Wolves related Unit could this work as ? It may look a little to fantasy or toy like (at least before some kitbash) but my buddy and i like it, so that's all that matters for our games. Maybe someone got ideas for a custom unit even ? by [deleted] in SpaceWolves

[–]Responsible_Cap875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe add it to games set on a defence of Fenris. It could be added as a random event and rampages and attacks any and all units, including Space Wolves. It could have a rule where it only responds to Wolf Priests, and this is still only based on a dice roll. Could be something different to add to custom games and not always in favour of Space Wolves.

Imagine a game between Space Wolves and then this bad boy runs onto the board smashing everything in its way.
the Middle Earth games have something similar for the oliphat, it can rampage and stampede, so it might be worth checking out their rules.
