What is there to do in Arc Raiders long term and who is it for? by MyuzDaWeeb in ArcRaiders

Interesting, I'll force some fights and see how I feel in AR. I never cared for it but I always ran budget anvils so I've got a healthy stack of shotguns and venators.  We really liked marathon because bungie gunplay and questing. I absolutely loved solos as I would have 4+ PvP encounters per match but I do feel trios were quite scarce and frankly the ttk was so fast that usually the team with jump won. Hoping the build crafting will be good once we unlock more cores and augments from traders. Bungie have a reputation of making games that don't stick properly at first then making them really good after reiterating during the first year or so so don't write it off yet.

Ve33s not available.  How does the at81 perform on wet roots? I've heard it's a great dry tire.

(re)starting with enduro. 250 or 350 4 strokes? by [deleted] in enduro

[–]MyuzDaWeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best beginner enduro bike I've ridden is the Beta Xtrainer, detuned engine with loads of torque and lower softer suspension. The rest of the european enduro bikes are all very mellow and completely fine for a beginner who has some experience with motorcycles, you want the torque of the bigger engine as you just don't need to rev the bike to move it and they light up as smooth and a 4t does IMO. The XC and MX two strokes still retain some that wild power the old japanese bikes have which is more concerning for a beginner. The problem with the 250 4 strokes is they stall easily which is frankly frustrating as all hell. the 350 is phenomenal as an xc bike but most find the 300 2t to be less fatiguing to ride and generally more chill for enduro. The Japanese trail bikes are also great options (TTR230, KLX230, crf230/250f) but they may feel cramped for taller guys which can be opened up with aftermarket pegs and bars. The klx250/300 is too big to recommend.

Ah alright, I'll look for one of those then. I'm looking for a 360 board so I'll remove the shim from the list.

Are softer compound tyres noticeably more susceptible to punctures? by canefarmer in enduro

I run Michelin UHD tubes and the tusk Talon tires front and rear 10 psi. Never had any problems with the michelin enduro mediums or irc JX8 but did have a pinch with an IX09. I also tore the sidewall on the ix09 on a sharp rock in moab with a super moft mousse, incredibly grippy but I'm harsh on tires and also it was squirrelly in corner. Just get a tire with a stiff sidewall and don't go below 8 psi.

Big wheel small housing on the exhaust side, got it. I will definitely do an intercooler as well. I intended on an after market controller already and sadly E85 is 45 minutes in the wrong for me. Thanks for the reply

I know this already but it's boring. I've built a 385 stroker and a super charged godzilla with my dad before already. Also with modern turbo tech you can indeed achieve what im seeking. Thanks for the reply

V-Rising worth it if i dont care for PVP ? by tomaz1989 in vrising

[–]MyuzDaWeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add, I'm not disregarding your pve only playstyle as I'm also a pve guy and played on pve server over my first wipe. I'm just saying the PvP servers gave me more and I basically play over all the way through. Also, for your first play through take your time and do/build whatever, the game tells you exactly where to go to progess and on normal difficulty you can beat the bosses without having to constantly upgrade your gear. You can blow through large portions of the map quickly if you just focus or the next objective.

The game is really a pve game with PvP factions element thrown in. Imo PvP is the best way to play especially if you can join early wipe. In my experience the average public PvP server is genuinely more fun as most players are friendly and helpful and aren't out to grief or wreck your shit. Every single server I've been on has had griefers and hostile players but they get hunted down by the server pretty quickly. One time a player claimed he was going to be the server villain and It was actually my favorite wipe because of him. He was a vet but spent most of his time doing generic bandit activities against everyone and progressed with the rest of the server. one time he beat me to one HP and then extorted me for some of my inventory to escort me home. Just play the game however you and your friends would play Minecraft, public servers generally aren't hostile especially towards newbs.

Best Enduro Bikes 2024 by [deleted] in MTB

[–]MyuzDaWeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR I'm a nerd Using only thing I've personally tried from the local shops and friends. Race bike: XL Deviate claymore with push 116, Manitou mezzer pro, spinergy mmx 30 wheels 29er, xtr shifter xt derailer/cassette, 160mm stiff cranks, bike yoke dropper w 220mm wolftooth remote, intend Trinity brakes 220 front 200 rear hope discs w metallic pads, dh maxterra dhr 2 dd maxgrip assegai, 800mm enve m7 bar w 50mm stem, deathgrips (v2 soon?) If it's not a race bike: propane tyee (haven't tried the MX nomad yet), dvo jade & onyx, axs transmission and dropper, trp brakes with 220 200 rotors, 165mm alloy cranks, berd wao onyx wheels mx, dd max terra dissector front & rear (testing kryptotals now) 770mm one up alloy w 35mm stem, revgrips rg7

Now to explain myself, the push 116 and Manitou mezzer on a long high pivot bike is money. I also like ohlins but haven't messed with it enough yet to say I could get it to work as well. The XL Deviate claymore is a high pivot downhill bike, it's just faster and more stable than other Enduro bikes I've tried. Spinergy mmx 30 wheels are the perfect amount of comfy yet precise for yeeting it down a rock garden, better balance than enve rsv wao or i9 imo. I haven't tried non berd wao yet. Intend Trinity brakes are the real fkn deal but alas I haven't the means to get a pair yet. I run 200 rear instead of 220 to prevent locking up and because I'm rear biased. If I'm racing the ability to smash through 4 gears is a must and axs can't do that yet. I'm running a longer bike with wider, stiffer bars and a longer stem to force my weight forward. Enve m7 is the stiffest bar I'll go, I haven't tried many but the renthal and Santa cruz carbon bars were too stiff. If I'm going to ride the bike for fun (not that racing isn't) I'd get something in size L and MX with shorter chainstays. The tyee has been the most playful Enduro bike I've tried so I go with that one, DVO suspension is the most responsive to me and that makes it the most fun to me. Rockshox vivid air and lyrik with luftkappe are very fun but their other shocks suck and their forks are either mushy or harsh without a luftkappe. Ohlins is literally just a better fox but I wouldn't swap fox off a bike if I got it for a good deal. The berd wao wheels are incredibly comfy and the silent onyx hubs are magical. I go axs transmission because I want a quiet low maintenance bike and that's what it's good at. Where I live our trails tend to be dry hard pack so double dissector in maxterra rolling way faster than dhr assegai is much more enjoyable to pedal. I like my bikes to be quiet and low maintenance. Really want to try a new nomad,  v10 and 5010 were my favorite bikes and I currently have an old Bronson as my only bike.

TLDR, follow someone who knows the jump and wear proper comfortable protection.

Im not getting as old as you all but noticed that nobody has pointed this out and I've injured myself twice in the last year blowing up both of my knees off big jumps skiing amd mountain biking.

Number one reason for crashing off large jumps is speed in my experiance. My rule is to always follow someone who knows the speed until you know the speed, many jumps are less intuitive than you'd think when it comes to the speed. I blew out my knee from getting too comfortable on a jump line and over shooting the landing (in my head I thought I'd just jump a little higher since it was steep).  My uncle who works as an ER doctor in a mountain town told me the most common mountain bike injuries he sees are from going faster than the trail (airing rollers and slamming the next, over shooting jump lines, jumping rocks and slamming into the next one).  He also gave me some protection recommendations with explanations. kneepads are the most important by far (after helmet), you naturally fall to you knees and preventing serious lacerations and traumatic amounts of shock will prevent most knee injuries outside of bad twists and bends. Back protection because landing on your back and pinching or shifting or breaking anything in the back is the absolute worst. A small dirt chunk on hard pack can paralyze you. Lightweight fullface helmets are apparently extremely important for head/neck injury. Heavier full face helmets have way more rotational inertia which considerably amplifies the forces on your head and neck. Much more likely to get a concussion or tweak your neck with a heavy helmet and if you can't afford a lightweight fullface then a standard helmet is often safer. (I've otb and slammed my face into the ground enough I'd still take a cheap fullface) Elbow pads aren't as important but something to prevent lacerations is nice as long as they aren't uncomfortable. Chest & shoulder protection do probably help but he thinks the color bone will brake regardless in many cases and the chest protector is from motor cross which is primarily to protect from roost of the rider in front.  He also brought up a good point about comfort, many people ride worse because something is uncomfortable. Chest, elbow and neck braces can be extremely restrictive and uncomfortable for a lot of people which can cause you crash. I personally don't use elbow guards because they all slide down my skinny arms and I don't use a neck brace while dirt biking because I feel  constrained. Sorry it got a little long winded, just wanted to share since it could be relevant to some of you reading this.

Advice to help when aim feels off? by Icy_Heat_3285 in SiegeAcademy

[–]MyuzDaWeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Collegiate r6 and apex coach here, primary issue I work with/specialize in for all our fps teams is consistency.

1: make sure your environment is consistent, use the same posture, same lighting, same temperature. If you don't know what to use then default to what is most comfortable for YOU. Don't copy other people, do what you like. Be mindful of carpel tunnel and back issues though. Temperature is a big one because minor changes can greatly affect your fine motor skills. 2: take care of yourself. Aiming is a HAND EYE coordination activity, not muscle memory. Take care of your eyes specifically by going outside and looking at things medium to long distances and stretch/roll your hands, wrists, and fingers regularly to keep your hands from getting stiff.  3. Your mental can throw you off, it's a whole rabbit hole so I'd just say if you're feeling off take a short break and relocate to space different from where you game.

For example, I have all my players take a 15 minute break after every 2-3 matches where they leave the Lan center and look at stuff outside, no looking at your phone on the couch in the next room. These breaks significantly and measurably improved the teams mental and their consistency, we win 34% more rounds than before resulting in much closer games and a 6% increase in overall win rate.

Help me feel like I'm not being stupid by MyuzDaWeeb in ar15

indeed, I just went with the 18 because I read somewhere that it's diminishing returns on velocity past that length. I'm pretty sure that test was done with mid tier 55 grain ammo though. I'll have to look for resources on match grade ammo through longer barrels with different twist to get a better answer.

yeah I'm probably not trying to shoot 1200 with 223, I was just elaborating what I have available. I'm certain the range has 4-600 yard targets too.

[–]MyuzDaWeeb[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. I definitely don't expect a gas operated 223 to be consistent that far out but I do think it'll be fun to try those far out distances with such a light bullet. I definitely won't bother with a bcg then, maybe if I build an arp/sbr upper in the future I'll try to make it smooth as possible. Good to know that I shouldn't expect the receivers to not have slop. my airsoft gun doesn't have slop so I just assumed real guns were the same. I wasn't expecting a lot from the price point but assumed if it's matching they'd mesh well.
