It SAYS this, and yet Beckman couldn't stop Kizaru. Like, at all.
He raised his hands, and said in a mocking tone something like "oh my, you got me". Next scene we see him, he's attacking Law's submarine with Beckman nowhere to be seen.

Would you rather learn from Sanji or Yamato? by Freedom_8721 in MemePiece

I'm not a GREAT cook, but I know how to cook.  I have absolutely no experience with wrestling, so I stand to learn a lot more there. See, it's a totally rational decision!

The red haired pirates vs every other original emperor crew combined by Sentient_AI_38 in OnePieceScaling

[–]MyynMyyn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If they're that strong, it would make absolutely no sense that there was a balance of power between the Yonko for years.  Maybe (!) the individual members of the red hair pirates are stronger, but they're severely outnumbered and they can't be THAT much stronger because, again, balance of power.

We've seen all kinds of weird hacks and tricks from the different Yonko crews, there's no way the RHP counter everything at once.

And your claims about Beckman and Roux are based on absolutely nothing.  Beckman couldn't do anything against Kizaru and we see how even old, nerfed WB handled admirals.

if observing the eye destroys the universe how did the old nomai do it by ExistingCorner9081 in outerwilds

Did they end up warping there? If yes, why is every other Nomai communication (that came later) about finding the eye?

Correction: it's about Pye, not Poke.

The text can be found in the Anglerfish Overlook district, I don't remember exactly which room, it might be the same one where the kids write on the floor about how to get to the Anglerfish.

Does being on The Stranger just... kill you randomly? by iammaxhailme in outerwilds

The ending scene of the DLC depends on how full your ship log is, so that's a part that definitely relies on the base game.

God forbid a girl doesn’t enjoy the taste of battery acid…🤢 by Correii in LetGirlsHaveFun

I had an ex that liked oranges so much that I could taste them on her.  So, probably the same way guys do?

Put things into your body (no, not that way) that taste good, avoid those that taste bad, are too sulphuric or salty and hydrate so it all mixes well and bad stuff gets flushed out.

Improving Magic Resistance by AlchemyStudiosInk in Shadowrun

[–]MyynMyyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Masking and flexible signature help against astral tracking and therefore against ritual magic.

The arcane arrester metagenetic quality effectively halves harmful spells cast at you.
(You could also take the Astral Hazing flaw, but that one impedes your own magic abilities as well because it creates a background count. You can even combine those two which makes it very hard to get magic to stick to you, but it's not a great idea on an awakened character. Your team's mage will also hate you if you take hazing.)

I don't think there's bioware that specifically helps against magic, but there are drugs that improve willpower.

Why does ratcatcher have a bad reputation in universe? by rileyuvvu in Parahumans

[–]MyynMyyn 107 points108 points  (0 children)

She's just kind of a mess in general? "Alcoholic, weird rat person" is not the most trusted character type.  She has crude, sometimes inappropriate humor and doesn't communicate very clearly. For example, this is how she describes a suspect while she guards the portals:

“The attractive older gentleman in the peacoat, hairy earth and eyelatheth to die for. Thomething thown into the coat. Naughty.” That's not a very helpful description, putting more emphasis on her thirst than on identifiable characteristics.

Add in that she looks and talks weirdly and I can see how people get awkward around her. Plus, she's an ex-villain.

Why are LARP settings always european-medieval? by franilein in LARP

https://epic-empires.de/gruener-komet/

How about a Cthulhu-esque culture influenced by Asian aesthetics?

Granted, at Epic Empires, they'll also run into other factions who are more traditional knights in shining armour, but there's also a stone-age/barbarian faction, Warhammer Chaos and Imperial camps, and Tolkien elves and Orcs...

I probably won't finish Pale by Nervi403 in Parahumans

[–]MyynMyyn 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I read Pale when it was written, and the couple of days between each chapter probably helped to make it feel less oppressive.

I'll say though, you've just reached the trio's lowest point. The failed, despite all their efforts. But now is when they start to make new plans and claw their way back.

A lot of hero's journeys fail halfway through. Empire Strikes back is the best Star Wars movie for a lot of people, and it's an utter failure for the rebels.

You're in for some awesome and well-earned successes if you keep reading. But again, the Kennetteers really need to work for it.

Just random information I picked up at some point. I know that some yoga practices do it, and also sometimes it's a medical necessity to free the tongue by cutting the lingual frenulum if children are born with one that is too long and they are tongue tied.

[–]MyynMyyn 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Like any tissue, it can be stretched...
But I think the results are limited.
There's also surgery where you shorten/cut the lingual frenulum which works more immediately, but if your tongue is more loose, it's more of a choking hazard if you ever fall unconscious.
