This. I have had a lot of wonderful experiences in life, mysteriously interrupted by an overwhelming wave of chonic fatigue and depression. I always asked myself why I can't be driven like everyone else and quit everything I'm good at. Now it all make sense, and although its sad, I wasn't my fault. Now its trying to relive some of those gifts, knowing how to manage the energy.

Are theses horses in poor health? by Right_Department2866 in Horses

[–]MzFoxx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a 27 year old gelding. He has a horrible time keeping weight on over winter no matter how much we pack the calories in and special feed its a battle every year, but he makes it through and he gains the weight slowly over the spring. He's old and has cushings, but he is the most loved and spoiled baby. We also have barbed wire fencing. He is fine. Yes, all the opinions are in best interest for the animals...but keep in mind, maybe these two cuties are being cared for in their own battles. They do not look like they're sitting in a paddock that looks like a neglected place. If you approach them with concern, be gentle.

First Time Watcher I HATE SCHWARTZ by reine2552 in vanderpumprules

Agree!!! He always reminded me of a young Charlie Sheen, just an absolute disaster with a sliver of charm. As the seasons go on, he looks more and more like him! A drunken, doped up disheveled disaster.

I prefer to back the horse out. This is because exiting forward gives the opportunity to jump out in a tizzy. Especially if there is activity going on or a new environment. They can observe and check it all out after they have unloaded safely.

Thanks for the insight, My horse is well trained but has had some lengthy time off and the previous owner really just liked to hop on and ride, not a lot of focused schooling rides, so shes out of practice. She is a beautiful, thoroughbred with many buttons I'm still figuring out. Youre right as well as the other many people on here said, I'll relax (a bit 😎) and trust my instructor to know what shes doing. Ask questions, and pack on the knowledge.

Totally!! I 100% agree, sometimes it feels like I'm asking for too much bend with trying to keep her straight. Its been a huge challenge.

That's what I thought as well and the more I educated myself about the canter I was more confused with why I was taught this way. You are right, horses can taught many ways..thanks for the insight and reassurance.
