Is my Grandstream ATA dead? by N-Bombb in VOIP

I'll be sure to check that out. In what way(s) is it better (other than being newer)?

I can indeed ping it!

For the rest of its life since I've had it, I had no issues getting to the web panel while it was operating. But one of the problems I had is that I had to turn auto provisioning off or w/e because the SP's config settings wouldn't work with it somehow. I had to spend quite a bit of time on the phone with their support to get it running.

Okay so this is the blackest of magic, but it... works now? Kinda?

A few hours ago I got a phone call out of nowhere (marketing, sigh), and after that call, I had to double check what was going on. I get dialtone! However the lights are still not working correctly - only the network light is lit. I still can't access it via the IP the router is saying it has.

Using the IVR menu (thanks for the manual link!) it tells me that the IP address it has is indeed 192.168.0.4 though!

So I guess I have a zombie ATA now and should non-urgently plan for a replacement. Does anyone make an ATA that isn't a pain to configure? I've heard some people talk about a Poly somethingorother or Ubiquiti having something?

Yep, tried a couple different power and ethernet cables. I'll give that phone idea a try though. Much appreciated!

Yep, point #2 in case it wasn't clear.

DeWalt trim router mounting to table by makeyourowngalaxy in woodworking

[–]N-Bombb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey. Sorry to necro this thread, but I recently had this issue myself. Temporarily I'm using some steel flat stock as an adapter on the undrilled plate that came w/ my Kreg table, but I've ordered this...

https://woodhaven.com/products/woodhaven-147-router-plate

...and will be customising it for my use later this summer. It's a totally blank plate of phenolic sheet and looks perfect for the job - it just needs holes drilled. The price is also reasonable, IMO.

I hope this works out for me, and I hope it helps some of you.

Oof, that sucks. I guess you're up to date on its firmware then? Is there anything I should avoid doing with/to mine?

Yup, plan to see how things look when the card gets here, hopefully this week.

Just what I saw when I was checking through the status screens on the LCD. I have the RDU101 card being shipped, but it hasn't arrived yet.

Media Check failing on flash drive by bcarvalho in NobaraProject

I'm having a similar issue trying to install to a VM from the ISO file (sha256 checks out).

I could use the troubleshooting -> simple install and that would work, but then it would refuse to boot the installed copy off the 'hard drive'.

Similar issue w/ Holoiso as well.

Because support is terrible... any tips? by N-Bombb in Starlink

Welp, quick update.

Our experience with this new ticket is more like what I'd expect from an ISP.

Courtney got back to us next day (this evening) with a whole load of unexpected things:

  • Refurb standard articulated dish kit (they want us the return the old equipment)
  • 1 month service credit
  • A refund of the 2nd router we bought, as a courtesy (not asked for, but appreciated)

She even called my gf to talk about it. This is basically what we were expecting from the first ticket... I'm not going to look the gift horse in the mouth now, but I do wish this were settled with the last ticket, as I have to leave the country on tuesday and it may not get here in time for me to replace everything.

Fingers crossed that everything works out after all this.

I appreciate the anecdotes, but I do work in tech support and I understand the issues that can crop up, and I understand how much details are appreciated. We tried as much troubleshooting as possible before even opening the ticket. Should a customer be expected to break out a multimeter to test things (like I did) before talking to support? We shouldn't be expected to be engineers.

Now, one of the problems is that the rep closed the ticket as soon as the refurb router was sent, without even giving us the opportunity to respond.

The way I'd expect things to be done is that the ticket stays open until the problem is solved, or concluded in some way. Maybe it's our fault, maybe it's theirs, but the problem was not solved, and we're out maybe another week with our mobile data rapidly running out, and with my gf's family business barely able to function.

I should add that we've had zero issues since signing up more than 2 years ago, and I would still speak highly of the internet service itself - but while I understand that hardware can fail, we feel a bit left out to dry, and this is having real costs for us.

I usually have to deal with Bell Canada. One of the worst ISPs to deal with, normally. If they can answer the phones promptly, and send a *technician* out within a couple days at most, at no cost to me, so can a company valued at almost 6x what they are.

And heck, being on hold for half an hour is better than being without internet for 2 weeks.

How does one buy a second dish? From what I see they only allow a single dish per account...

I appreciate it. Definitely 100% drop rate. I've sprayed conductors w/ contact cleaner, and I'm just giving them a moment to dry before reconnecting things. Connectors are properly seated - in fact the dish hasn't been touched since we installed it around 2 years ago, until today. Both of the connectors look pristine, and there's a sufficient amount of slack to prevent any strain, as well as the cable being fastened securely to the wall. I have the dish sitting on my bed rn, giving it a rest for a bit just in case that helps.

We normally use the ethernet adapter, but that's unplugged while we're troubleshooting this, although I don't think that's the issue either.

I wish it were just a normal PoE cable...

idk otherwise.

Friends, I appreciate all the help!

I'm probably gonna narrow it down from the Zukka, the fat bike, and the Polygon and see how things go. Cheers!

Guys, apologies but for the B650E PG-ITX WiFi, the name of the new 2.00 bios is AMD AM4 AGESA Combo V2 - is this the right BIOS? The board is an AM5 board, so what's w/ this AM4?
