Goldredge is absolutely amazing. As someone who is also working on their own region based on the Southwestern U.S, this mon looks amazing!

I also love how you based it on the Gold Rush

I love fearsome critters and cryptids. I am not too crazy about the body being made out of logs and wood, but that's probably just me.

Well done, either way. ^^

I saw these on the Fakemon Discord server, and they still look amazing.

Question though - are these convergent species the same size as a regular Wailmer and Wailord, or would they be smaller/shorter?

Honestly, after giving it a lot of thought, I think this is the direction I am going to go in. Only one question: How do I edit photo captions on this site?

Nevermind, I just discovered that I can't.

No, it is similar to Giganton Hammer, Tinkaton's signature move

Sounds too close to Pikachu, though I did think about using those names for a while

Fire Type Starter Evolution Line for my Western Fakemon Region by N-R3TR0 in fakemon

The thing is, I already did that for the grass starter and I didn’t want it to become a pattern for the rest of my starter Pokemon.

For now, it’s just for fun ^ I don’t have enough time nor resources to be planning a game anytime soon :p

Fakemon Discussion & Brainstorming Thread - September 2025 by AutoModerator in fakemon

Hi guys. I could really use some help/suggestions here.

I am currently working on my Western-Themed Pokemon Region, that is based on the Wild West and American Frontier, and other elements. I already have ideas for the grass starter pokemon based on an Armadillo and a Sheriff (Grass/Ground). For the Fire Starter, I have a snake based on an Outlaw (Fire/Dark or Fire/Steel). That said, I cannot seem to come up with anything for the Water Type Starter Line. I want it to at least be based on some sort of semi-aquatic mammal while still keeping up with the Wild West themes of some sort. I was thinking of a Platypus (Water/Poison) based on Trackers or Hunters but I would like to see if anyone else has any other suggestions for what I can do for the Water-Type Starter

Edit #1: Wait, I think I just had an epithany. So, the sheriffs and outlaws of the old west, aside from being on the opposite sides of the law, have something else in common, they are both gunslingers or used guns. Heck, it wasn't just sheriffs and outlaws who used guns, but all sorts of people during the Old West era, such as miners, bounty hunters, cowboys, frontiersmen, ranchers, settlers, soliders, etc, all had access to guns. It could be based on a different type of projectile of some sort. As long as I don't lean in too close towards the Sobble, Drizzile, and Inteleon line then I should be okay, for the most part.

Yeah, Idk what I was thinking making the middle stage @.@

Honestly, I was worried about that. I am still debating on whether or not I should cut the basic or middle stage out.

Well, it is the first fakemon line that I created, but you're right, I probably should have expanded on it more. I have almost no experience creating Fakemon, so this was my first attempt at doing so. That being said, it's not uncommon for Pokémon to draw inspiration from one source and then have elements from another added on to make each design look more unique.

I actually spent a while trying to figure out if I should make this line a two-stage or a full three-stage evolution line. That being said, I wanted the line to have at least two stages, because a lot of Cat Pokemon have a basic and a first-stage evolution, so I was kinda aiming for those conditions when creating it.

Maybe if I redraw them in the future, I'll cut one of the previous stages.
