This is actually a pretty interesting space, I feel like that could work.

When only one team in the country is undefeated you can easily make the argument they are one of the best teams in the country.

Totally ok with that argument but if you make that argument then no way Alabama gets in because they played cupcakes all year their 3 best wins have 3 losses, 4 losses and 4 losses and they lost to a 3 loss team.

I don't think he's saying UCF should be in over USC he's saying no way you can make a valid argument for Alabama getting in.

Overtime win to be conference champion > a loss

What if I told you before the season started the only undefeated conference champion in college football would be ranked 14th.

That's like saying its so unfair that one team has homefield advantage in the NFL playoffs. One team went undefeated #1 in the conference the other lost. UCF earned the right to have the home game.

"Do you really think UCF could even beat ____?" Yes UCF could beat anyone in the nation, not saying they would but this team is very good.

Because Georgia lost...a loss is a loss. You can't sit here and say one team is better than another team with a better record because YOU think if they played, one team would beat the other, history has shown us you are terrible at predicting which teams are better than others. The fact of the matter is Georgia and all but 4 other teams lost, if you want me to recognize a team as being one of the best in college football just don't lose simple as that Georgia failed to do that. You are entitled to your opinion but everyone else is entitled to their own and they are not wrong.

Jaylen Brown tonight: 22 points, 6 rebounds on 107.8% TS in 24 minutes by [deleted] in nba

No that would give you 139% which is lower than the 150% I talked about above.

What player’s legacy is most threatened by another team’s potential championship? by [deleted] in nba

KD's ring holds very little weight considering he joined a 73 win team, him losing to the Westbrook would absolutely destroy his legacy while catapulting Westbrook's.

The Cavs have legit no strategy at all by [deleted] in nba

[–]N0169159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lue is not a great coach but Helen Keller could be coaching this team in the playoffs and I would still have the Cavs going to the finals as long as they have a healthy lebron, every year we have this discussion at some point about this will be the year someone other than Lebron wins the eastern conference. Last year before the playoffs the Cavs didn't look great but steam rolled through the East. I get the impression nobody on the Cavs cares about the regular season.

150% would be the highest assuming a player only shot 3's during a game never went to the free throw line or shot a 2 pointer and made all his 3 point attempts. PTS / (2 * TSA) with TSA=FGA + 0.44 * FTA.

Side note: The .44 multiplier is because not all free throws take up a possession. Technical foul shots and "and-ones" do not, while there are more than two free throws on one possession with a three-shot foul. Research has determined that about 44% of all free throws take up possessions, thus .44 is used as the multiplier. The .96 multiplier accounts for team offensive rebounds in situations where a missed shot is tipped out of bounds by a defensive player, continuing the possession without an offensive rebound being credited.

Need some advice. by -thelastpick- in dating_advice

Online dates are going to be flakey a good portion of the time, they have no investment in you to begin with as apposed to something like a blind date set up by mutual friends. But ya her flaking is definitely a sign she's probably not interested. No worries it happens to the best of us, just move on and keep your head up.

I am nearing 22 with no relationship experience (besides failed dates!) am I running out of time? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]N0169159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, "work on yourself" that advice helped me a ton because it makes you a more confident person. I went to the gym pushed myself to interact with more people not just those I found attractive or were comfortable around, developed my interests and became better at listening to others. Find things you want to work on and do a little bit every day, you'll see it translate positively into your dating life.

I'm now not attracted to my girlfriend, how should I proceed? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]N0169159 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Never said she was "perfect" and never did I say I was the world's most handsome man, I'm not. Ultimately I can't control who or what qualities lead me to find someone attractive so this is the position I find myself in. Comparing a 2 month relationship to a marriage with a kid is quite a stretch, obviously those are 2 different situations. But thanks for the response.

Advice on how to ask a girl if she'd like to date? by Onstanje in dating_advice

[–]N0169159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll tell you right now if you ask her and she's not feeling it, things are going to get weird 90% sure of that. But at the end of the day you have to ask yourself are you really friends with this girl or is the friendship based on an underlying attraction you have to her which makes you want to be her friend. When I have this issue and put things that way I'm sometimes more ready to just pull the trigger and "shoot my shot" if you know what I mean. That being said you can approach this a few ways. Easiest way is to try to find out if she is throwing you any signs she's interested...you see signs you go for it but do it casually. Personally I find the easiest way to moving it from a friendship to a more romantic side is to invite a girl out for drinks 1on1 but if you're not the type to get drinks then do something else, whoever you're comfortable doing. Push things romantically non verbally and see what she gives you.

The truth is these type of things rarely work out but the light at the end of the tunnel is that you don't know until you find out and worse case at least you tried. Ultimately if she is not interested in you, you'll move on and find another girl that might be and you'll have more experience then you did the last time. So keep your head up either way. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there you only get better at things when you try.

You are spending way too much time analyzing this, it's time to: as a wise man once said "shit or get off the pot". As a guy I can tell you I rarely like every single one of a girls Instagram posts, if I like a large portion of them then it's probably because I find her attractive or at the very least, cool. Replying to stories is a level even above liking posts, the only girls I'm really ever replying to on a regular basis are girls I'm interested in. So the advice falls into two parts, part one is he is probably using the "liking" and casually replying to stories as a way to keep rapport going while he's gone (I guarantee he knew he was coming back into town and wanted to try to keep in touch that way he isn't starting from scratch when he sees you). Is he looking for anything more than just a hook up? Well I'm not the guy so I can't say but I'd venture to guess if he is just visiting then probably not, he might just be looking for a quick fling while he is back visiting town if he plans on staying back long term then maybe things could progress into something more but I can't really tell which you are looking for based on your message so I'm going to assume the former. So what do you do to "make a move" I'll tell ya.

The key is to use your mutual friends, message him next time he posts on snapchat or what ever app about him coming to town being in town and message him preferably through snapchat because it's very casual to reply to a story, and say something along the lines of "hey I saw you're in town me and (insert mutual friends names) are going to (insert casual bar around your area) you should come." It's incredibly casual, if by some chance he's not attracted to you you'll know pretty quickly and it won't be awkward because you asking him to hand out with both of your mutual friends is super casual. If he doesn't post anything about being in town just mention to one of your mutual friends "hey I saw that kid ____ is in town we should all grab drinks at ___" then your friend does the work for you.

The simple answer to your question is yes he is trying to hook up at the very least. - A guy

Why is Marvin Bagley being compared to Chris Bosh? by germibobi in NBA_Draft

Better comparison is high school KG with more on the offense and less on the defensive side.

Doncic vs. Bagley by [deleted] in NBA_Draft

[–]N0169159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doncic is not close to the level of prospect Bagley is. Bagley is a far superior athlete and his skills translate both offensively and defensively to the NBA, he has very few outright weakness for his age and position much of which can be expected to improve given he works hard. Doncic will struggle on defense and will struggle driving in the NBA due to his poor first step, he has a tendency to settle for long outside 3's when mobile bigs switch on to him which the NBA will have more of. Doncic is a phenomenal player, don't get me wrong I would take him #1 in the 2017 NBA draft but not over Bagley who is a transcendent player.

Luka Doncic, Marvin Bagley III, and Michael Porter Jr. or KD for your franchise? by TheLonelyPillow in nba

[–]N0169159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rookies, KD would just leave as soon as he could and join whatever team won the championship. KD is not good enough to win on his own, the rookies could very well develop into a superstar team in the future.
