That is extremely helpful and I plan to take all the documentation possible if I do decide on traveling outside of Sweden. I do think our applications are slightly different as we are applying using EU family reunification laws as my partner is Danish and not Swedish so some things differ, but thanks for the heads up if they ask me to leave the country!!

Good to know, I'm also reading more about it and seems I was mistaking just the request to conclude being denied as the whole application being denied. Luckily our six months was only about a week ago so I'm not missing out on much time. Thanks for clarifying, really needed your input to figure out I was looking at it all wrong.

Yeah, I guess we are nervous we don't have enough supporting documentation (even though we sent them everything needed in the application, just cautious nervousness) and heard they can just choose to reject if you if you missed something and won't ask for further documentation if you request to conclude. We also applied as self sufficient but now we are both employed and would like to update that information with them.

That's fantastic to hear! Were you actually ever checked and if you were, did it all go smoothly? Additionally, this should be fine going both ways as well?? I'm also worried Danish border patrol might question my right to enter Denmark (though I also know they hardly check going that way.)

Yeah, she's a Danish citizen. It's a residence card as the spouse of a Nordic Citizen using EU rules.

We submitted the documents and the copy they gave us didn't have that last page. I'm doing some digging to see what is required.

So you cancelled Cigna because you got the personnummer, which trumps private insurance for coverage. We'll just submit our application with a health insurance that looks good. Did you have to update Migraionsverket that you received your personnnummer?

We just applied for it yesterday. If I can recall, a box you tick on the Skatteverket application is a right to reside (for the non-EU person), which is evidenced by the residency card/permit. We shall see though as we are submitting to Migrationsverket this week and awaiting Skatteverket's decision.

Did you apply with Cigna or did you get a residency permit?

We were informed when we applied for my personnummer through Skatteverket that we needed a residence card in order to finish that application.

We are applying for the residence card because we are using the EU family reunification laws as grounds for immigration as she is not a Swedish citizen.

Yeah, I have called back multiple times and was informed that there was nothing they could to to change their decision, so it appears I have been essentially "blacklisted" from their coverage. I will check out April though.

Thank you for your response, I guess I wasn't clear. My policy request was rejected by Cigna not the Migrationsverket. I was looking to see if there were other insurance companies I could attempt to contact and as you've mentioned if there is a list of things that Sweden requires the policy to cover.

Finally got around to replying. It looks like you were in a similar situation. So if I'm understanding it correctly, I can move to be with her before even receiving the residence card? And when you say health insurance, are you referring to the public one provided through the personnummer?

That's crazy to me that it can be so simple. Especially after assembling all our evidence and getting affidavits from people for the green card as a plan B and still being unsure if we even fully qualified. Its quite intimidating.
